Squad
Stuck on loading screen
I will launch my game and it will start normally until I get to the loading screen and it will be stuck with the sound going and I have to task manager close it every time. It used to work fine and now after not playing for a bit it stops.

Same for me. game freezes upon loading into a sever. Cleared cache, Uninstalled, reinstalled, still not working.
Same. Just cant run this game, always freezes on loading screen to main menu.
Same. I had zero problems until the patch and had been playing daily. Now game launches fine, server browser is fine, all good until I connect to a server. I get the normal connect messages, and then the loading screen appears with the map name and then it just hangs there forever and requires me to kill the Squad process in task manager.
I found out how to fix it. You need to clear about 40 gigs of space on the drive that squad is on, open the game, let it crash and then let the game validate. It takes long but it will fix it.
For me the fix was adding launch options -windowed -dx12

That didn't work for me, I had more than 1TB open on the drive that Squad was on and crashes never fixed it. The launch options were the only fix for me.
played for the past few weeks and started having this problem
same here bro
Hey guys, so I was having this problem as well, and noticed a similar thread on Reddit. They mentioned validating your game files as well as possibly changing the names of the videos in the actual Squad game files themselves, which you can access pretty easily through steam. This caused the videos not to play, though I was still getting the bug. I then deleted one of my game off of Steam like previously mentioned above, freeing up about 50 gbs of space. After I did that I launched the game and it validated one more time, and then proceeded to work perfectly.

My suggestion would be to try the following.

1) Delete a game or free up at least 50gbs of space on the same drive as Squad. This should hopefully be enough. If not then proceed with...
2) Validate game files through Steam settings (specifically properties of Squad itself on the Steam Launcher) and finally
3) Access the actual Squad files downloaded on to your computer via properties again, select CONTENT, then SELECT movies. From there, you should see the opening cinematics, which you can disable by simply renaming them.

Since doing this I've had no further issues and the game appears to be smoothly operating. Here is also the link to the reddit thread mentioned above.

I freed up space and it worked, I also changed the file name of the intro so I never have to see that again as a bonus.
