Update on issues with joining servers / long loading times

Greetings Community!

I wanted to provide an update for users who are having issues with load times / loading into servers. We are aware of this issue and we are working to resolve it. The issue seems to be mainly affecting users who have less than 12GB of RAM and or run squad on an HDD. This may also affect users who have upgraded their own hardware from an HDD to an SSD and have not fixed their page file.

For the group of users who have decent pc specs and an SSD please make sure your page file is set to your SSD and not any HDDs you may have attached.

To do this open your start menu and type "This PC"
right click the option that shows up and select "Properties"
In the new window that shows up on the left side select "Advanced system settings"
In the new window click on the "Settings" button under the "Performance" header.
In the new window click the "Advanced" tab
Click the "Change" button under virtual memory
Make sure your SSD is set to "System Managed"
Hit OK and reboot your system.

If this does not resolve your issues please know we are working on the issue on our end as well.

I have 16GB ram and an SSD set to system managed. I select a server and the game begins to load. It takes a very long time and then finally loads in to the map. A second later it goes back to the loading screen for about 5 minutes, then kicks me back to the main menu. I suspect the map is changing while I am loading.

I was playing and enjoying the game just fine before the patch came out. My spec isn't that good, but i still manage to get 40~60 fps, this patch made it unplayable for me, sadly. Long loading + 1fps in shooting range. I had to force my PC to shut down when attempting to play on a public server

Same issue as the above commenter. I have decent specs and was able to play the game with no issues (once in a while I might of had a high ping while playing in a European server). However, after the V12 release I haven't had the chance to join any games (I'm stuck in the loading screen). Hopefully, the team will be able to fix this issue because Squad is such a unique game and I want support it (and play it of course). Good Luck!

Same here dude. Almost the exact same specs.

It worked before the hotfix and now it doesn't anymore. I paid for the game during the sale and I can't even play it after. Tried all the fixes, move to SSD, increase my paging file, etc. Nothing works.

When I try to launch my game the splash screen pops up and then after that the game crashes

It works fine if I join a server thats empty and then gradually more people join I can play once it fills. But if I attempt to join a server that already has players than thats when it all goes haywire

im getting tired of this too, my 11hrs (supposed to be) playtime. 60% of that is spent actually in load times. im having a 10-15mins to load a map after i joined a server. in that 60%, 20% of it says server time out.

8gb 1333
gtx 950 xtreme gaming

runs on hdd
max out settings 40-60fps vsync on.

When game getting update fix loading connection timeout??. It nearly a month still no fix wtf. am so disappoint when v12 update can't even play with friend.

Cannot even get a refund cause I've spent two hours watiting to connect to a server, which didn't happen at all. Now this is just disrespectful.

There's a fix being tested -- some folks noticed a ~1.5 gb update on the testing app. A number of users have been kind enough to help us there. (More here: https://www.reddit.com/r/joinsquad/comments/a0q12w/update_2_for_long_load_times_not_being_able_to/)
