Man thanks for posting this. I have the same problem for quite a while now. I was checkin' on the usual suspects as well. Not really a solution though.
Two things:
- Can you have a look at your Squad logs? You find them under 'C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\SquadGame\Saved\Logs'
[2020.01.21-20.05.34:967][738]LogOnlineSession: Warning: STEAM: Failed to respond IP:97.107.191.51
[2020.01.21-20.05.35:073][752]LogOnlineSession: Warning: STEAM: Failed to respond IP:99.52.75.0 quite a lot. Apparently it's not possible for me to connect to certain servers.
- Believe me, I tried a lot of fixes. What may have helped a bit (more servers show up eventually, still some are missing and list is loaded slowly):
Port Forwarding, specificallyIn mine I find
I actually suspected the new (of course trashy) modem router my ISP issued to me as culprit. Which ISP and connection do you have? I have an Austrian ISP and use cable.
I did some research and suspected the device to have the Intel Puma 6 Bug .
Anyway I'm not really sure what's going on. Only thing I know is that it sucks!
Thanks for replying, interesting; after searching through the log I too had 'LogOnlineSession: Warning: STEAM: Failed to respond IP' at the time. My UK ISP is pretty bad (but cheap) I also use a 3rd party router rather than the one provided by the ISP.
I'm not sure if it's a port forwarding issue (although I appreciate you mentioning it) as later on in the day, once again for no obvious reason my regular servers showed up in the in game browser.
So yeah, I'm not really sure what's going on either; but it sucks when you have to jump through hoops just to play on your regular server.
Yeah well the port forwarding also didn't change too much for me after all. The list populates still unusually slow. But at least eventually all (I think) servers show up. Not ideal but I can live with that for now.
Furthermore the pings shown seem normal again as well. Cause they were unusually high also.
Let's see how it goes.
so turn off vpn
