Does anyone know how active the mod is? I'm trying to decide if i want to use 100gb for squad and the mod just to find out i wont be able to find a game

The server always has 90+ people on it from what I've seen when having a look. The mod is crap though, and I'm a Star Wars fan myself.

Im a big star wars fan too and it looks quite cool to try but it will take up so much space on my pc for something i could just do on battlefront

@outcri How is the mod crap lmao? clearly people enjoy it if they have two servers that are almost always full, plus the mod itself plays and looks like an entirely different game, that's how high quality it is. I wouldn't be surprised if you are just salty because you got banned for something one time, I've never heard anyone call GC bad aside from people who have been banned for genuinely breaking the rules.

SUGGESTION given its a workshop mod its easy af to install and delete so try it your self :T find out if you like it or not

I get what you are trying to say, but Galactic Contention is wayyyyy bigger in scale and stuff you can do, even if you mod Battlefront you can't get anywhere near what this mod does. I only play BF2 now for the Jedi/Sith aspect, if I feel like playing a good infantry focused Star Wars game, I just boot up Squad.

It's actually pretty good. I played it back in 2019 and it was more bare then. If you go to their discord you can see their future projects and they are updating it more frequently than the base game, plus it's all free.

Recently re-downloaded squad to play Galactic contention, and the mod servers are pretty active for my time zone. Didn't take too long to get in, and the server was always full for the 2+ hours I played.

That being said other than having a different skin on it isn't that much better than the base game. I'll probably delete the mod in a few days once the novelty wears off.

Okay maybe crap is a little harsh, lol. Definitely not banned either, just didn't bother playing the mod again after a few rounds. It's optimised really bad even on a RTX 3080ti. I appreciate what the modders have done, as it's fantastic work, but it just doesn't click with me.

idk what you mean about optimization, I get the same fps as I do during a regular match of squad (around 80-50 at max settings 4k) and I have a 2080ti, so I'd recommend seeking technical support or wiping your config files for Squad. As for not clicking with you, fair enough. But for Star Wars fans, it's a really amazing game that outshines Battlefront 2 in almost all areas.
