Squad
Is there an indicator for enemies? (Casual Gamer)
I get this is a sort of simulation game, but not being able to tell which enemies are which when both are wearing the same base color is pretty annoying. Ex Canadian vs Irregular Militia :medkit::csgostar:

Enemies don't have nametags appear when you look at them.
The only real indicators is really what colors and camo they're wearing or if they're constantly shooting at you, no markers, although if you got good eye sight you could look at what gun they have and go from there.
Commen differences in armor (EVEN WHEN THE COLOR IS DAMN NEAR THE SAME)

Helmet/Head accesories such as shades/ski mask
Guns
Armor Patches on upper arm(or lack thereof)
Boots
If they look like a homeless person they're probably IMF iirc

I can't think of anything else, If they are friendly a nametag will appear like 2 seconds after looking at them I think.
Constantly check your map where teammates are and know the enemy generally won't be in that location, also go by name tags. About the tags though, sometimes they take a second to show up, like I almost lit up a teammate yesterday in some armor and by sheer luck he wasn't killed. Personally I like to always wait a brief second before opening fire, to get a better shot and to clarify if it's an enemy or not.
Learn the camo and the structure of each soldier how they look. There will be no indication who is foe but that they don't have a name tag. At long ranges be careful of friendlies as their names won't appear. This is something you have to play and learn overtime. Later on you will start to identify each kits.
Look at the enemy markings in red on your map.

Listen to your squad members call out positions of enemy.

Opposition do not register with names above their heads.

Don't rush the game like its BF or COD, take your time and observe.
People already covered almost everything, my tips for the Canada VS Militia fights are:

Canada uses sunglasses/shades and got black soldiers

Militia uses balaclava and more "informal" gear

Edit: btw i'm new too and struggling with identifications, specially close to the enemy when every second counts and checking the map is death. Soon we will be better, keep it up

I get its the free weekend but a friendly just shot another friendly right infront of me XD. There should be an easy toggle that u can pop on an off at least for training purposes for a while.

I like squad and what it brings but i dont play it enough to really remember uniforms. I'll take huge breaks in between and just come back cause i have the itch to play. This issue with enemies and friendlies was always an issue for me when playing.
i think the whole point is to not know in maps that have very similar maps, but i mean u can use the map to see if friendlies are in that area. and guess off of that. or u can play as a SL and other SL's talk to u so u can make callouts to ur team who is who
get good trust me its just cuss your bad first tfps?

Yeah prolly, i only play squads casually so i'm not that into really knowing all the terms / uniforms. It's still really fun, the alliance target is pretty neat but still not that helpful for a noob like me. Only time i have it easy when its insurgents and US XD

I have suggested that very thing myself but have heard some pretty good counter arguements. The best thing to do in the meantime is look at your map to confirm who it is, i recommend that to all new players and even after all my time in this game i still use it. Its good practice regardless, This is also something you should always do when blowing a vehicle for those hundreds of people i know have blown up friendlies in the last two days.
Some times the tag can be buggy. I shot my mate yesterday. He was running towards me I had my rifle on him for a few seconds and no tag appeared. Being only my second day his uniform meant nothing so I took him down only to be greeted by shouts of "WTF DUDE!" lol.

On the flip side I got shot by an enemy because another squad were assaulting a position directly behind the enemy soldier, (who was prone), and their tags were showing above the enemy. By the time I figured it out, I was dead.

It's war.... sh*t happens!

spam key M thats the solution when I doubt

And I WANT IT AS IT IS , that is realism and Map is help enough. What would be next, someone asking Colored name Icons Up the players? NO PLEASE
You could also up the scale of friendly player names, so they their names are bigger. Then you know for sure if the player has no name tag it's prob an enemy
