1080p 40-45 fps with a 2060 Super + i7 10700, wtf ?
Hi, I just got the game and finished the tutorial, having 120fps at medium high settings with a 98% gpu usage.

When I dropped into a game though my gpu and cpu were both at like 40% load only, and my fps was permanently below 50.

I know it's not good hardware in 2021 but I feel like I should be able to play at +60fps 1080p.

Which graphical settings are the most ressource hungry

I have similar spec to yours (although my GPU is better) and I am not seeing anything like what you're showing in the videos you linked. Very odd, I would not expect such a huge discrepency in FPS based on slightly different specs.

My specs:

10700k @ stock
32GB DDR4 ram
RTX 2080Ti
Running @ 3840x1200
Everything maxxed out, except I have "far shadows" off

And I get about 120FPS in "light" situations, and a steady 68-90FPS in "heavy" situations. I never drop below 60FPS, like ever.

You cannot say steady 68-90 FPS. But that what I thought. Quite bag like for a 10700k, don't you think?

Smart arse, you got my point... I meant steady as in "acceptable" or "not causing my noticeable issues". And, 10700k + 2080Ti I would like to see higher than 68-90 FPS yea... but, this is a massive map, milsim style game so I expect it to perform worse than say CS:GO or COD for instance. I really have 0 issue with FPS as long as it's 60+ on a game like this. Would I like 144 FPS+ constantly - of course... would I be pissed off if I had your setup and was getting what you show in your videos - hell yes. Certainly seems very odd what you show in your video(s) - something is "wrong", not sure what though.
No, It's average like I said. Highest it hit was 130's and my average is in heavy scenarios where I spent most my time so far.

Do you think that your absolutely top hardware especially 10700k which is one of the best CPU on the market right now it's fine to acceptable to run game from 2015 with 68-90 FPS? :D

It's not the newest title with super ultra great graphic or something. Big battle game like battlefield were already there with also better graphics and performance.

Average means nothing. Give me you normal FPS, I told you Fallujah middle of map during battle e.g.

YES AVERAGE thats my normal. I monitor while I play with amd relive. It's the normal FPS. How is it hard to believe it? Did that. Battle. You name it. I was the only one seeing highs during that same map, And asked squad mates what was wrong they were COMPLAINING saying FPS issues And I was telling them mine and again nobody believed a word besides one guy and his 3080 with a threadripper lol He was about the same boat as me so he said.

But, What resolution are you running? 1080p will strain the CPU. Mine @ 2k Is a different balance. Plus, I use a 6800 OC, And lately, Nvidia HAS had problems with a few games with their past few drivers, 2 friends of mine confirmed some things we were suspicious over.

Resolution is 2560x1440p. My GPU is a Asus 2070 Strix, which is OC'ed by default if im not mistaken..., so your GPU is a little bit stronger but my GPU is usually not at 100 % in Squad when im not mistaken.

Drivers are up to date.

And, What version of windows? There were 2 bugged updates the past 2 months that tanked performance for all systems ( AND NOT SOME PEOPLE) anyway. I had no issues but there were so many who did.

According to winver my windows is: Version 2004 (Build 19041.985)

- Windows game mode is off

never checked, will do

FatherLamb eredeti hozzászólása:
- Power settings are set to AMD's Ryzen High Plan
- No fancy extras on in the GPU Just freesync
- No Overclocks

same, just Gsync Monitor, Power settings are not in the way, no cpu OC

FatherLamb eredeti hozzászólása:
- Ram @ 3200mhz CL16 I believe
- The game is on an SSHD not SSD or HDD

same, correct xmp profile, game on M2 NAND drive

FatherLamb eredeti hozzászólása:
- Latest windows update bug free

How can i check this ?

Im on windows 19042.985 V 20H2

so there is a difference there. I can't recall if yours was the one mentioned on PC Gamer or not that had the huge performance mess up. It was just a few weeks ago if that.

Simply because that's bullcrap hard to believe. I told you to post print screen or even video from Fallujah in the middle of the map with enemies around and then we will see your average.

Average means nothing, I'm pretty sure that while action your FPS jumps with all over the place.

I just said I WATCH IT in game and AMD relive Reports the average and shows charts right with it of the games EXE and its history. Sheesh dude. Stop the salt. Why would i make crap up.. I'm not your 10 year old on steam arguing my ♥♥♥♥♥ godly like 90% do.. IDC

I actually came here posting what I'm running along side windows updates and more options on/off and what might help and what to look into. And you want to insist I'm lying about it all. Dude THE SAME DAMN MAP YOU MENTIONED is one I was in. The average is MY NORMAL. It has only dipped below 90s the first time I played it when it loaded up the textures and what not. Plus, Might I remind you since I'm using a 6800 I have BAR on with my AMD processor and the AMD cache option enabled for the GPU for texture optimization and better delivery. If you're in denial, So be it.
So, Let me rephrase it all dear Jedi.

1. AMD BAR enabled
2. Relive Texture over-ride optmization & Cache enabled

The only thing in the game that isn't on EPIC is AA and its set to 4 everything else is EPIC setting and of course vsync is off.

The ones saying other wise are a regular 2070 and 2060S, Vs a 6800 Red Devil OC card, this is a 40-55% gain over those 2 cards. Add in the factor I'm also not on the bugged windows, And I have nearly nothing background running but corsair app alone and steam, Everything clocked tight, Perfect and no thermal throttles, Yeah.

I'm not wasting time posting a video. I simply tried to just mention possible causes to having it drop FPS for some people.

The thing is that usually in Squad you see the GPU not fully utilized because the CPU (only two threads fully used) is bottlenecking it before. So (as far as i know) Squad is in general heavier on the cpu and beyond a certain point stronger GPU's don't really do much for fps.

Thats what puzzles me..., with my 3700x / 2070 combination im having something like 70-80 fps most of the time.

Maybe im gonna upgrade gpu to a 3070 ti or 3080 ti (if i can get one) soon..., now i would be expecting that this will do near nothing for me in fps for Squad since the cpu is the bottleneck there...

Keep in mind man, I said AMD Resizable bar is enabled too though. If you're un-aware what that is look it up. It works along the CPU/GPU in pair along with any 5xx series board. It gave me a good 8-14% boost in a LOT of games.

Just read about it - interesting. It even works with Nvidia GPU's as long as you have a 5000 series amd cpu and a 3000 series nvidia gpu, with 3000 series amd cpu's (like mine) it only works with AMD 6000 series GPU's, but it sounds interesting.

It basically paralellizes the data transfer between cpu and gpu..., gpu can reveive more information faster from the cpu..., now it makes sense, the percentage boost i am reading about here fits almost exactly the difference in fps between our rigs in Squad.

Guess thats another reason to get a 3000 series gpu :P

This is what I was trying to explain to jedi up there in a sense. Forgot to mention it early on though. It's helped a lot in quite a few titles for me. I didn't think it would even give a noticeable gain from what I saw on reviews. Then I turned it on and was surprised.

And, No it works on 3xxx CPU's and up and as long as its a 5xx board. But yeah, It does work on Nvidia as long as its newer RTX.
Aegmar eredeti hozzászólása:
only thing that confuses me is that "resizeable bar" seems to be an Nvidia system and the AMD analogue is Smart Access Memory ? or am i reading that wrong ?

I worded it wrong, I just go by what every one calls it lol but yeah its SAM/BAR.
