Squad built back up from scratch in UE5 with virtural texturing, nanite, lumen and all the other bells and whistles would be amazing. If you've got an RTX2080 card or better download the early access editor and the valley of the ancient content and you'll be impressed for sure.
I was able to import some 4.26 projects I'm fooling around with right into UE5 and they look absolutely incredible. 8k maps with dense foliage running at over 120fps on cinematic. Plus the editor UI itself is really nice with quixel built right in.
Those amateurs keeping squad in 4.23 and right now actually they are working on nothing :D:D.
I know that original Squad was made by passionate professionals and they finally left and made separate project for army, OWI defence simulator, it's called?
I wouldn't like to see what those amateurs could do next if they are unable to fix 1000 of bugs that they created and optimize the game.
Actually I think more and more they sold themselves like a hooker's and de-optimized game getting paid by Intel to force people buy new CPU's.
