I think you missed the point entirely. I see you didn't read the comments, but did you make it past the headline?

Lol bro, i read the headline, I understand his position. Having a job, not having the time or energy to play Squad seriously. But listen bro, the idea of a "Casual" Squad player is a myth. Casual just is another way of saying " I dont really care about the team work aspect or communication or essentially helping my team win", and if that fits the description of anyone's mindset this is the wrong game. But IG to prove that i read it ill go down it one by one responding clearly to each point for you.
1. The first problem we encountered. We had a hard time joining the same team. There is no way to be in a "party" of sorts. I joined a team, my friend tried to join but was placed on the other team instead. After several tries, we managed to join the same team. It can take several minutes to achieve this.
Okay.. is this even a real complaint? I play Squad with a group of like 6 guys in discord so if there is anyone who knows the struggle of waiting to get all my guys on one team and one squad trust me i've been there. What are you guna do? Sit here and ask an admin to make a 10 player difference between the teams because you dont wana wait? Like I'm just confused as to what you want to do about this? You play with friends... you gotta wait to get everyone together... idk what u want anyone to say.
2. Once in the same team, often times the squads that are created are full. No problem i said, i will make our own squad and play that way. If other people join up i tell them to NOT expect elaborate orders or tactics or anything like that since i dont know what im doing as an SL. I do offer them the SL role, no one wants it.
Squads fillup quick because NOBODY wants to SL. Nobody wants to have 8 randos who are all 50/50 on whether or not they listen or do what they are told(hence why i tend to play with my boys and a few randos to fill it out). Now being an SL you can do what you want with your squad, you wana be hands off? Fine. But by choosing to be hands off as an SL, you are leaving it upto each individual player in your squad as to whether or not or how much they are contributing to the game. The reason I dont do that is because in my experience randos dont have the understanding of the game nor the information to make decisions about what needs to be done. However if you are comfortable with this do as you please. But squads being full is a snowball off of the fact that nobody wants to SL so they join peoples squads.
3. We spent another 10-15 minutes joinign a different server and same team. We finally find an open and joinable squad. We join. We say hi. No one talks. Everyone in the squad seems to be doing whatever they want.
No problem, we will go where the action is and do stuff. Finally we were playing and having a bit of fun until my SL leaves teh server, i get promoted to the SL position.
I didnt notice this as we were fighting other people. I get kicked, again, for not having the SL kit while being a leader. Apparently you get kicked after 2 min of being an SL without a kit.
Not a terrible move. If server and teams arent working switch em. Now joining a squad where nobody is talking.. Anybody who has played this game for more than 100 hours has run into this issue. What can you do about it? This is the same thing as what i was saying about the first point. Nobody wants to SL because people can LITERALLY sit there and decide not to communicate or work with you. It can be stressful if you're Sl and nobody is listening. So nobody does it. This experience is just another example as to how the "Casual Player" can ruin Squad for those of us who actually enjoy playing the game as a communicative cohesive team. They're too "casual" to communicate or w.e.
Great you guys recognized that your SL is not communicating and probably not on objectives so you rotate out towards Obj on ur own good move.
Getting promoted to SL. So yes there are server rules behind those who actually carry SL kits. For instance, if you are running Armor, on most servers you need to have the SL as a Lead Crewman(unless you are specified Mech Inf), and yes the pretty much Squad wide rule of every server is that as an SL you MUST have an SL kit. Now these rules dont have flexibility for real life such as when your SL Dc's and your the new SL. Now i've had this happen to me and ive had it happen in situations when just like you I dont even know i'm the SL. However ive never had the experince of being kicked because I didnt know simply because like you, If i'm in the heat of battle and can't even pay attention to the fact that a whole new line of comms just opened because I'm an SL or i miss the huge message in the top left that lets you know thats all fine, but How long do you really survive in a battle that's ACTUALLY that hot. In my experience not very long normally(ofcourse this is a variable for everyone). So my thing is, if it's that hot that you can't pay attention to anything else but shooting your weapon, moving, and getting sight lines in Squad, your life expectancy in that situation is very low(Dying would allow you to go back to respawn screen and change your kit to SL), therefore the 2-3 min timer is there to kick those kids who wana SL as a LAT or some ♥♥♥♥. It prevents 9 men from running around a map and not having the ability to set rallies or HABs. The only advice one could give on this issue is that you have to be aware bro. Bullets zipping by your head you still have to be aware of the game situation at hand.
Most players dont have the mental ability to understand that their firefight no matter how big or small is EXTREMELY small in the grand scheme of the game. Someone's shooting at them they're guna shoot back or try to because its a game u run around with a gun in that's a simple fact. However your ability as a Squad player is more focused on your ability to actually be effective at winning the game, not your firefights. But underfire its very easy to tunnel vision on your firefight it happens to all of us.
In a squad you guys have a responsibility to each of your squad mates not only as the SL(especially the SL tho) but regular kits too. As you have experienced, life happens outside of the game, your SL's game can crash or DC. Now 8 man squad with no SL and you guys gotta figure it out and figure it out fast. Not doing so causes each SL to get kicked until that entire squad gets kicked for not having an SL kit. Its just a security system to make sure that there are no useless squad running around with no leader to set spawn points for them and keep them in the fight and you have to work around it.
4. Our final try, we decide to go to another server. We try to join the same team. No joy. We decide to keep playing like this, on opposing teams until the match ends and we start a new map. Maybe THEN we will have a chance to get into a squad and not get kicked or other crap.
A new map came, we tried joining same team, failed. We played like this for a few minutes until a slot was open on hte opposing team, i joined my friend, we found a squad, no one was talking there but htats normal i guess.
15-20 minutes later i think, we lost the game. We got literally destroyed as a team. I have no idea what happened that game, i was lost the entire time.
We decided to call it a day. ETC
Ok so one, if you join a squad and nobody is talking please understand that is not the normal. You have to be having bad luck with servers or squads because Squad comms are always FLOODED. Whether its the music players with their soundboards in Local or the casual conversations that occurs in Squad comms and Local. And thats just the usless ♥♥♥♥ that comes out of peoples mouths. In the heat of battle? Squad comms can be in ur ears like an Arty Stick on ur head. So im amazed that you've managed to get into so many silent squads i rarely find em. I'm honestly interested what servers do u play on?
Also getting spanked as a team is normally a DIRECT EFFECT of having inexperienced or weak Command chat.
I always say this and its that as the SL you are one of the few people who can actually be held accountable for losing your team the game so be a good one, if not for your team for your 9 guys. I highly recommend that you get back into Squad Leading its the only way to rid yourself of the bad SLs in your ear and to feel like you can actually make a difference in those games where you're team is getting spanked.
Im guna be honest with you the reason i hate the casual player in squad is because in my experience Casual players are normally just burned out players who dont want to deal with the intricacies of tactical game play so they start asset wasting, or ticket burning mindlessly.
But please do tell me what servers are you playing on?
"decent vic players"
Ahahahaha, you mean the simpering ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who hide on a mountaintop pretending to be useful until they get ganked by enemy AT? Lol no, it's called the infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and armored transporter in russian (BTR) for a reason. I love running full armored vic squads, we take a logi and an armored vic for protection while on the move.

I don't mind reading a good novel of a post, but when it's off completely off topic based on headline reading, it's a waste.
