They went out of their way to disable SweetFX a long time ago and then recently disabled the filter section in nVIDIA GeForce Experience so logically its highly unlikely AMD FSR or nVIDIA DLSS will ever be implemented in the game either.
I personally enjoy getting 40 fps on all low settings with an RTX2080 and you should too. Its "rustic" and makes me feel the nostalgia of running games back in 2002 with an original 3dfx Voodoo card and seeing smeary pixelated graphics.

Nope it won't.
I will only increase your fps, if your gpu is at 100%.
For me it almost never is, i even play at 150% render scale, because the gpu is bored.
This game has other limitations.
That said, it would definately help guys with either slow gpus, or medium gpus at 4k.
Also, in DOTA2 you can enable FSR and set it to 99%, which ultimately will make your fps drop a bit, but the Image Quality is way better than before.
So implementing it, should be a no-brainer!
Imo, they should really try to add it. It's not just about the performance, or how its can be utilized on a wide range of video cards, versus DLSS.
One of the main reason, of course is all of that, while also the fact that the list for actual FSR support right now is really low. Like, only a hand full of games feature it. Squad would get a lot of public explore from adding FSR. Like, people would most likely write articles about it and/or mention about it.
FSR is exciting new tech, a lot of people are talking about it.

^ I found where it was mentioned. At 43:00

It will also be baked into the latest version of Unity and Unreal Engine.
this is what i'm guessing too. despite a couple of maps, i noticed the less players on a server, the more fps i would get, which leads me to think it's CPU/server related
