Why Australia or USMC over Israel?

I don't get why Australia was selected as a faction to add. Has Australia fought an actual war recently? Didn't they lose a war against emus?

Israel is a much more interesting choice as a faction. They're in the middle east, so they fit into many maps already in the game. They're constantly fighting wars, they can fight factions that currently exist in the game. They have lots of cool, modern equipment.

I also don't get the choice of adding the USMC. We already have 1 USA faction, why is another needed?

USMC because most of the vehicles and weapons are already in game, so it's minimal effort for OWI.
Australia because it's a mod, and you have no say in what modders make.
Just wait for the IDF mod to get up to standards and it'll be in the game too.

Australia is a mod being integrated into the game. The marines, while from the same country as the US army, have vastly different equipment.
I dont think we'd get Isreal without it being euphemized like Iran or China. There is just too much controversy involved.

Australia was in the Vietnam war and WWll with the U.S and the dev team that created that faction were Austrailians themselves

It's different we have amphibious vehicles and slightly different weapons than the U.S Army. However I can say that about Israeli Army. I dont see much of a diffrence with Israel and the middle eastern faction we have. Go Marines Ooo Rahh!!!

You need to seriously brush up on your knowledge if you think Israel can be represented or replaced by the MEA.

I personally would've prefered other factions for BlueFor over USMC and Australia (tho Australia was made by a third party, so who cares, it's not like the Devs spent dev time on it), like Germany or France, or hell, more GreenFor/RedFor factions, like India, some Latin American Country, idk. I personally wouldn't mind having Israel in the game, they have some interesting equipment, but I'm guessing OWI are avoiding them in order to avoid controversies related to the IDF, politics, things the IDF and the country of Israel have done (including very recently), etc... I'm risking violating the "no politics" by just explaining this.
If this thread gets more traction, you will get an idea of what I mean if you're not already aware lol

Making it about politics is their problem. It's an army that is prevalent in the real world, it fights many wars and has interesting modern equipment, that is reason enough to add it into the game. If some fun police wants to screech over it, let them.

Also I think they should expand this game into Africa. I always enjoyed the African maps in project reality.

I guess it was just a pretty good mod team that managed to produce a pretty high quality (guessing here) mod and OWI decided to add it..., could as well have been Israel i guess.

Nothing against adding USMC, but i too don't understand why add another bluefor faction first and the third Opfor faction later..., should have been the other way around and they could have made China first.

Guess the game will sell better in the US when you can play Marines.

Team that made the Aussie mod was also working IDF faction too. All of a sudden when OWI announced they made the deal to add the Aussie's the mod team went totally silent and deleted IDF faction thread from their discord.

Not really sure what to make of that tbh
