Insurgents and militia can place tonnes of mines, which are broken. Often times the red pressure plate clips underground so u can't even see it + you can often just place it under natural rocks, so invisible mines everywhere...
The mil/ins techies are also not fun to drive as they tend to just slide out uncontrollably, negating their higher speeds. Also making it easy to get killed driving, causing u to lose your logis and make people reluctant to do logi runs.
On bigger maps ins/mil also struggle with keeping supplies as they don't have helis to bail them out and like I said loginruns become painful due to mines and difficulty driving.
I think if they made techies more driveable and nerfed mines it would make ins/mil much more fun to play with and against.
Tbh I think mines should just be removed all together in their current state. Just give sappers/engineers an extra c4 or something. Mines are broken atm!
And while we're at it, remove radios and make the habs the radio, and make habs immune to explosives.
Tldr; mines are broken because their model often causes them to be invisible ie clipping under map, + ability to place them under small assets like rocks.
Servers are run by the community, and they play what the community wants.
I guess AAS/RAAS is most palatable to the battlefield crowd... and yeah it sucks because the tickets are tuned in a way that makes it extremely dumbed down and arcadey and doesn't allow Squad's gameplay to really shine.
Luckily there seems to be more Invasion only servers starting up, but I'd really like to see a Territory Control only server...I think that game mode is vastly underrated compared to how crap AAS has become.
I tend to find it's either you steamroll the enemy, or they steamroll you, I very rarely, if ever see it come to tie or a draw and I tend to find it unfun
Generally if you haven't won the defense on the first 2-3 objectives then you have lost. By that point, unless you've gotten extremely close to depleting their tickets each time, you will rarely win. They will have built up a ticket pool large enough that it becomes extremely hard to recover from.
Again it comes down to how easy it is to just surround that enemy objective, pin them into their defenses, then win eventually. The attackers are free to move anywhere they want while you are largely stuck to your spawns. When the defenders are being attacked, they will naturally defend from where the HAB is. Just keep tightening that noose until you can cut off the flow of respawns by disabling their spawn.
It doesn't help that usually by the point that you are getting to that third objective as the defender, the team's morale and cohesion is next to zero. You've just gone through 20 or so minutes of ass kicking. Now if the other squadleaders aren't outright leaving the game and passing the kit on to someone that didn't want it in the first place, then they are losing all enthusiasm for leading. A sense of "It doesn't matter what I do, I'll lose anyway" falls over the team. Oh and a cherry on top is that you've still got another 4-5 objectives to slog through even if you lose quickly on each.
AAS just feels different, like a Battlefield game mode, more direct, conventional, and boring.
Also the thing that kills me with AAS/RAAS is when a game goes south, the team is one or two objectives behind the actual front, you know you you have lost and now have a 40 minute wait for tickets to run out and get to the next map.
Maybe host your own server to promote those game modes.
