Squad
PLEASE ADD AN OPTION TO DISABLE VIGNETTE!!!!!!!!!
It's so annoying and especially when zooming in and out with the scope, feels like the whole screen goes black after zooming out!

For the scopes it's there for balance.

Its there for balance, instead of zooming the entire camera and spotting people, its there for you to use the actual scope, instead of being able to see enemies outside of that effect. So what Maki said, for balance, its correct. It doesnt go black. It just adds that effect and removes it.

I think you guys don't even know what vignette is and you are talking about the completely normal blur effect surrounding the scope when zooming into it lol.

If not, do you have any link leading to that information or is that just a lazy assumption? The vignette effect is subtle enough so as to not affect the ability to spot anyone or anything. That has never been the purpose of the vignette effect in any game. In any case, it is enough for me to notice it flashing on and off and it's really annoying.

Screenshot? A picture is worth a thousand words.

If you don't know the difference you shouldn't be posting here guys.

Why are you so reluctant to take a screenshot or video? This issue you proclaim has never even crossed my mind. Can you at least pull a YouTube video on Squad gameplay that shows this?

The fact that you don't notice it is fine. The fact that you don't know what it is is also fine. But the fact that instead of doing a simple google search you're wasting our time here is beyond me.

Of course, when you're zoomed out the screen edges are darker. It's more noticeable when playing fullscreen than on a video though.

What is going to be? I'm not seeing this. Would like to get input from other players, the topic of vignette has only been up a few times and this forum has been up for like four years.

Well read it again: it's both. The vignette effect is on the edges of the screen, but it's extended so much it affects a great part of it, so it feels like it all goes darker... It's not a contradiction.

Zoomed out (vignette on): https://i.imgur.com/27kNmxt.jpg
Zoomed in (right before the animation ends (vignette off)): https://i.imgur.com/wbOMZtg.jpg

Please open both links in adjacent tabs, alternate them quickly and tell me you don't see the screen is darker on the first image. Especially noticeable on the trees left of the screen.

This is recent? I've never seen this range. I do see what you mean and would like to test it out myself.

That's from 5 minutes ago. It's the training range, but this happens in any map obviously.

Will take screenshots from my end, one moment.
