No it has not! Since the ranks are a thing in HLL people began to restrict other peoples in their decision what roles they take. And you can see people constantly cry about even more restrictions all over the forums yet. Also the customisation that came with the rank system in HLL made people run around with winter uniforms on summer maps which completely kills the immersion for a lot of people.
A ranking system is just based on numbers but adds nothing meaningful to a game. Nobody needs this to have fun playing a game. If you want to add rank patches to uniforms for realism units I'd completely support it, but having a rank based on playtime is telling nothing about experience in a game. So a clear no thank you from my side.
a lot of people are unemployed and/or goal-less in life, so they use gaming grind to replace that sense of pride and achievement. they don't play games for fun, but for the sense of accomplishment. to them, leveling, xp, status, stats, are everything.
where you log on after work to relax, they log on as if going to work to earn a living
their ideal is to be paid to play
Absolutely not. Because when there's a ranking or unlock system people play for those things and not the game. People will pad KDs, stop worrying about objectives because "muh points", etc etc. This has been discussed before and the answer is always the same: There will never be ranks/progression systems for Squad.
Nevermind the fact that all the people that have been playing for 5+ years would need to be retroactively ranked which would be an absolutely ridiculous not to mention time consuming endeavor.
