VR Support Coming?
So i just read that squad maybe implementing vr support? If that is true, it sure is a pleasant surpridse. I never would have thought they would have vr support but omg it would one of the best experiences! Especially flying heli's with hotas support ;)

Well I remmber that it worked in past. But as in this video you can see in notes. They turned it off

There was soem reason for that but I dont remember.
OWI also made some VR experimental game its free to play you can find it there on Steam. I sniff that there is someting behind this and some learning from their side.
I dont have any other information but I guess that sooner or latter wi will have Squad with VR support. And it will be mindblowing experience.

Anyway at this moment its good to stay with foots at ground. And enjoy current status of game.

I think Roy once mentioned that UE4 is VR enabled, and if you want you can use VR head set on Squad. It's just that the whole UI and experience is not optimized for VR.

The problem with VR in Squad is the resolution in this generation of HMD's. You will be very sorely outmatched at anything other than short range confrontations. I play the game at 2k and I'm still looking at individual pixels on the screen to identify targets. I can see TrackIR being very usefull, but not full-VR.

i played it in VR few months ago. and it was awesome ! bring it back please ! at least "pure VR" support with mouse and keyboard.

Look up the Pimax 4k vr hmd, it mght make your statement irrelevant
I play at 1080p and haven't felt I was at a disadvantage to 4k users, that is over-hyped. The Samsung and the Vive Pro will both be superior to that. More over being truly able to look around 360, and have better peripheral ...vs NOT is a much bigger handicap than lower resolution vs higher.....unless all you do is sit on a mtn far a way...in which case you likely are not doing much to support your squad and objectives anyway. Those guys I kick as SL.......

Anyone try using this with Vorpx? Would love to play in VR. If only mouse and keyboard vr

I'd love to be able to play on my Rift. Please add VR support!
Current gen can bearly keep 50m clear and static focusing systems (that even the next gen use) arn't good enough to account for objects further out from that anyway, they will need adaptive focusing lenses for that (which introduces the need for sensors for you eyes so it can tell when you are looking at a far away object, adding the extra difficulty of distance adaptation time that will no doubt also cause nausia).

Nothing upcoming so far addresses these issues nor is there a particular demand for them to be addressed as clarity within 50m is still an issue with next gen. Gonna be a couple of years before we get anything that wont be an inherent disadvantage in this game.

So if the only dsadvantege is to the user......let us have VR back.....Unreal engine should support it natively. I'll just stick to building assault as a near sighted specialist. :D
