First tutorial broke twice so i went onto servers.
Mostly ran around doing nothing. Eventually joined a squad because was gonna be kicked if i didnt. Ran around accomplishing nothing attempting to stay with squad then team lost.
Then I had another one and lost. Nothing of interest or amusement happened.
Then on my last one I couldnt get out of spawn. When we started we had a squad lead who tried but didnt know game and was kicked before he could attempt to do anything. After that squad sped off without me in a truck then I ran across map until we lost all map control and i died from 1v5 alone.
Honestly reminds of experiences with free periods with DICE games. Played for free period and because i got to try them i have no desire to buy them anymore.
If you think this is pushing players away then this game is not for you. Game is called "Squad" not "Lonewolf". Join a "Squad".
Good, he proably didn't communicate with the other SL's. Or didnt have a mic (but as you said "he tried" I assume he had a mic). I don't see how that pushes away players. It saves players from bad SL's.
Perhaps you were not with the squad when they mounted up? You spawned in late instead of waiting for a spawnpoint. Most situations people are left behind is because they either fail to communicate or fail to listen on the communications. The other players aparently realized they needed to get into a truck and they managed to get in and you were the only one left behind...?
Problem with free weekends is that you get to experience the community at its worst as you get to meet a lot of more inexperienced players so you got get to see good examples as much as you see bad examples. And as the general concensus of the Squad playerbase dislikes free weekends because of the high influx of inexperienced players, the new players get to see SL's when they are the most triggerd.
Is there a solution to it? I don't know. I'm sure OWI is running the free weekends because they see a increase in sale, so I guess they most be working. I guess people playing during free weekends need to also understand the situation. I guess you could use the saying: "You get what you pay for" If you didn't pay for something, then perhaps you should not have so high expectations of it. In the context of Squad and Free Weekends. I guess people need to understand that you are not the only one that is testing it for free, others are too. you cant expect the same out of the playerbase. But I know people won't think about it in that aspect and instead throw blame around.
Perhaps a weekend is too short to get to experience the game? Perhaps increasing it would frustrate more veterans? I have just come to accept that free weekends exist and TBH. Every day I play, regardless free weekend, I meet bad SL's, lonewolfs and trolls. I don't notice a differance.
shhhh, you're supposed to write about absurd ideas to prevent this and how you should behave in this game, not the bitter truth about server handling in squad, IN GENERAL!
The good thing as it is currently, scripter are beeing band really fast and as OWI supports VAC, you can not only ban them for the servers but contact them to ship the request further to Valve, who locks their accounts. Pretty dope.
Still, offical servers not owned by randoms would be nice, yeah.
