Worst sound design ever.
worst Ambient sound
worst Footstep sound
worst Echo and Reverb sound effect
worst Equalization mixing by 5years old

Sound is more important than graphics.

All things are relative. What's your frame of reference? A surround sound movie?

I like them, personally my favorite is when a rocket gets shot off.

Ever been in actual combat? Engagements today tend to be at a longer range. Squad simulates that perfectly. And when in a CQB environment, it is rare to hear enemy footsteps with all the ambient noise. The sound design (helos, explosions, gunfire) are the best I've heard in a game. Even the bullet cracks. You know it's good when you duck your head IRL after be shot at.

My frame of reference for this is how the sound design used to be last year around this time. It was easy to track someones footsteps via sound only, and now you have to guess because it seems like that sound is coming from your forehead. That doesn't speak for the sound design in the entire game but it does hinder a significant part of the game, one they are looking to develop with more "spec ops" oriented mods and gameplay.

Can you explain mean what you mean by this?

Totally agree on the footsteps. Sometimes there, most times not.

They had issues with the sound with various windows updates. Sound behind your ragdoll sometimes seems to come from infront of you. Mortars are silent depending on your audio settings ingame. Footsteps are sometimes silent, sometimes you hear people crouching 10 miles away from you. Radio sounds are hearable depending on positions. Gunfire is most of the times not correct, varrying in distance and directions. But nothing in any way actually gamebreaking.

Also depends on the map size. I think they got the regular audio domes on the map or around objects, that maybe get cropped down in size depending on the map. On big maps you can hear vehicles up to 650m or more, on smaller ones this gets cut in about half. If they do the same with every other sound, the situation is clear.

Overall the game has very good sound design. The range of which you can hear footsteps and when very close is fair. It's hard to balance.

Besides, OP is just spitting criticism without mentioning his way to improve what he think is bad. Move along!

So sitting in a vehicle.... The sound of the vehicles engine you are sitting in is almost silent, yet all the other vehicle sounds are blasting in your ears.... Yeah that's TOP NOTCH....

Sounds were very good in V9, got worse as they "updated" the gun sounds.

The only complaints I have are the sound glitches when tap firing in full auto/burst, the weird footstep glitches, and vehicle engine sounds, but everything else is probably the best I've ever heard from a mil sim.

I think the only thing about about sound is the vehicle engines and how obnoxiously loud they can be.
