So first check that your GPU and CPU are maintaining there boosts while running Squad and not dialing things back after a few minutes, in the case of your CPU which will be going from 3.8 to 2.8ghz is a 27% loss in performance.
but why do Squad's Benchmark decide to set the setting to all low ? It could be something has gone wrong :D ?
I suspect its the CPU downclocking and maxing out that is limiting you from running at a higher FPS so you might find you get the same FPS running Low/Medium for example as this will give your GPU more work to do.
Last night I let Benchmark decide the game settings, then I made some change in Nvidia control panel with the target is Squad (Due to this post: https://steamcommunity.com/app/393380/discussions/6/1696040635920169317/).
In lobby menu i saw the GPU used 90%, so the fps went up to 179 fps. When i jump in the battle it stayed in 80 fps.
but it just happend in the fisrt match, :D now it turn back to 60pfs with just around 50% GPU usage with the same method i did last night, can't raise the GPU usage anymore ._.
So now the problem is how to raise the GPU usage up :<
Use a free program like Afterburner and HWinfo to monitor Clocks and Temps onscreen in realtime as an overlay while your in game.
You can then see if your GPU or CPU is maxing out or what they are actually boosting too.
You can alter Fan Speeds within Afterburner to keep things cooler ect.
Here is a video explaining some of the details if your not familier with all this.
