Water bottles/canteens
Just had this crazy idea... What if we had the OPTION to use water bottles/canteens to regenerate stamina faster? Like in Post Scriptum.
That way, if we’re carrying one, we don’t have to stay still, prone or crouched waiting until we can run again. It could also be one more resource for logistics.
Every one spawns with 1 bottle.
Quick sip and off to war!

It's possible we could add an item like this in the future, if the game mechanics called for it, but it's a lot more likely that a medic is going to be your best buddy. Keep the (polite, non-namecalling) feedback coming! =)

It could be worse. We could go full arma and have you slow down to a crawl in 30 seconds.
When you look behind you and see the guy who took the rocket is a kilometer behind because he can't keep up
When you can't see him anyways because being exhausted makes you blind

Not that it matters because he'll get blown up by someone vertically 10km away in a Blackfoot attack helicopter with thermal imaging, while you get blown up by a missile that locks onto personnel.

Yup
I don’t like it, as people have said it feels gimmicky, I prefer the pace of squad as it is, and I don’t really see how a canteen of water even replenishes stamina, I get this game isn’t going for full realism but a magic canteen that fills your stamina is pushing it for me. I know the medic system is similar but that is an absolute requirement, I can’t honestly think of a better replacement for the medic system where as this isn’t required. Maybe they could just add 30% more stamina instead then it wouldn’t be such an issue?

I don’t know man... it’s fast when there’s not much going on but...
I’ve found myself and squadmates running out of stamina while the SL is yelling to get our asses over there so he can place a rally point... and we had to keep yelling back that we’re out of stamina...
or having to lay prone in the middle of trying to get to or out of a situation...
I think that having an option to get running again faster would be great at certain times.
but I think thats what shoudl make you think more about cover than hey lets run over there and I can keep sprinting with my magic water bottle rather than oh boy Im exhausted better rest a little... it could also be exploited to get stamina back quicker and thus stop the sway in shooting when stamina is low.

You can run reasonably long distances in arma if you’re carrying just basic amount of gear.
But if you have 2 mags in your pockets, another 5 in your vest, 3 frag grenades, 2 smokes, chemlights, a radio, binoculars, a rocket launcher on your back and a truckload of other gear in your backpack... yeah you’re crawling in 30 seconds and it makes sense...
Wait, actually it doesn’t, you should either crawl to the AO or your spine should break and die.
Yet, this is all irrelevant to squad since there’s no similar inventory and we’re talking about water bottles giving you a boost once or twice. ONCE in every game maybe? :/

And for those who say it’s gimmicky,
It’s not more gimmicky than the medic bringing you back to life with a bandage or replenishing your health by showing you a medkit. It’s a game. Plus it makes sense to get thirsty after running in all that army gear so water could replenish stamina.. there! It’s video game science xD

Proposes a game mechanic, gets mad when said mechanic is not liked by most of the commenters.

10/10 standard issue steam forum procedure.

I think what everyone is trying to get at, is that the stamina system in place works as intended and no one can make sense of adding a feature that is not wanted by most, because it's either unnecesarry or feels silly to them or both

Proposed a game mechanic, people responded with “nah”, expressed disappointment and asked for arguments, people gave arguments, conversation happened, one guy got mad and now some people are being smart asses for no reason.

Seems more like the standard procedure.

Sure, I can live with that. I’m just loving this game and constantly thinking of ways it can improve :)

I prefer keeping stamina as is and needing to be tactically maintained. Honestly, it takes like 10 seconds to get back to max if you jsut stop moving and lie prone. Its a resource that promotes being a good player and thinking ahead.
Technobaer Oct 12, 2018 @ 5:16am
that sounds good ! but you know whats better ? if you have eat and water and you are eating and drinking you get faster stamina but with time its getting less so you need time to time eat and drink for better stamina regeneration
Timmeh Oct 20, 2018 @ 7:20am
Water?
I say give the Russians vodka bottles for super potato power stamina and damage resistance.
S1mplicity Oct 20, 2018 @ 9:34am
maybe you should be able to alter the load out like ammo etc to alter weight carried and thus stamina used / speed, that has worked in other games
