Squad
Why does this game take f*cking forever to load?
It takes 20 minutes just to load into the main menu, if at all, and 15-20 minutes to load a match, if at all. It cannot possibly be my rig. I have really good specs and only SSD storage. I have tried installing it over and over again with no luck.

After the V10 update, the game hangs for me as well.

Disappointing.

If your running Squad from a Non-SSD drive, try defragging it. Load times for me are between 2-5 minutes on first load when joining a server, and now and again after a big update like this I will do a defrag. Windows store is worse for this, but Steam is also not exactly the most contiguous when it comes to placing files on your HDD/SSD

Mhh....i use:

1: SSD only for the OS and smaller application ( TS, Skype the works )

2: dedicated SSD for SQUAD and i mean squad only

win win, loadingtimes went from abysmal to aceptable to rather fast

If you've turned off texture streaming, it's loading all the textures into memory (takes a little time) but it offers better performance. You'll need at least 16gb of sys ram to turn this off and not have issues.

it takes about 4 min for my game to load to the loading screen. first couple times i thought it was locked up. i still have never been able to load into a match. it literally never loads into a game, even after 10 min. I cannot even close the game, it's hung that bad. This is a huge problem

A little update, the game stopped hanging after I verified the game cache. Dumbest solution ever, but it worked.

I have a 1TB 7200RPM HDD and the menu loads in under 2 minutes. It does take longer now that it's loading some scene with models/terrain/fx instead of just a background image though.

Not really, that's one of the first things people should try for issues with Steam games.
