How to tell the difference between friendlies and enemies at a big distance?
So i was playing invasion and my whole squad was basically just stationary turrets on a roof and we were doing pretty good but every now and then i would tk teammates that was super far away / far enough away that i couldnt see their name and my other teammates thought they were enemies aswell.

is there anyway to get around not shooting ur teammates at that kinda distance where you can make out the color of their uniform or what it really looks like or is it like shoot and hope it isn't a teammate.

You will learn the comouflage patterns of different nations over time, with increasing experiance, and ofc always keep track of the map

I would think if you can't Id the target visually or confirm via the map, hold your fire or direct someone with optics to verify.

Many kits have binoculars these days.
Use them to confirm targets and guide your emplacement's fire.

It's easy. Shoot em. If a message saying "<your_name> Team killed <some_poor_frick>" pops up in white on the top left of screen then the target was friendly. Type secret code "sry for tk" to All chat to acknowledge receiving this vital friend-or-foe information.

+1

This is what i was going to suggest. Map is key and is real time. Zoom in and out and use the the distance ranging on the map to guage if its friendly or not. For example you see someone at 300m and 400m. If the map says friendlies at 400 then its enemy at the the 300.

If you see a soldier, it is probably friendly. If you don't, it is an enemy.
I played Squad one hour this evening, I got killed 10 times , saw only one enemy, camping in a bush, 5 meters from me (and killed him). He did not see me either.

The helmets and backpacks. Over time you adapt to the colour as well.
