Mic issues in game fix - Steelseries Arctis 9x

Ok so thought i would share as nothing on here specific for playing squad with Arctis 9x wireless using the wireless dongle. I got this headset and could not be heard in game, even though the PC, discord, steam and other games pick up the mic fine.

So long story short, the fix was to connect the headset via both wireless and bluetooth to the laptop. have the wireless set as default playback device and then select the handsfree bluetooth headset mic as the default input device. Make sure the mic is on and connected before opening Discord and Steam and that should enable you to be heard in game. Hope this helps people with this specific headset as i spent hours going through settings etc VB Cable the works and nothing sorted it until this.

I think discord is the reason. I was having this issue for the longest time. could not pinpoint the cause of it. then shut down discord whilst playing squad and I could be heard again.

Nah im having the same issue with my blue yeti. works on everything else but squad

thanks will try shutting down discord before playing squad to see if this is the reason also.

Shutting down discord did not resolve the issue either. so will just continue to use the bluetooth mic for now until the Devs come up with a fix for their VOIP client.

I fixed the problem by going back into steam. one of the last steam updates changed my mic settings

they moved it from settings to your friends list. use the cog wheel on your friends list to adjust your mic

ok thanks, yeah checked this and its set to default still so guessing thats the correct setting. thanks though
