Binos already have analog range finders. You just need to learn how to use them.

Everyone has a range finder already. It's in the bottom right corner of the map. It irks the hell out of me that people don't use map scaling. Depending on your scope reticle you may have 2 including the map.

A marksman worthy of the name should be able to zero with only a reticle and WERM. In the mayhem of the game 90% of the time you'll get away with a ranging shot.

Learn this correctly and you won't want everyone else to have range finders.

I mean it would make the marksman more useful, and would promote more teamwork oriented play by the marksman as they would be able to instantly and accurately provide the exact range. This would also make grenadiers much more useful.

i disagree marksman should stay with the squad. if you make ranging easier it will just result in more lone wolves. I believe that's why they removed the ability for FTL's to range targets to encourage players to stay with the squad leader for accurate and quick ranging of targets. regardless if you are a Anti tank element or a marksman you should always stay with your squad and work together/ use good communication to range targets.

Yes, I agree with everything you said. Apart from where you said it will encourage lone wolfing. I imagine it would do the complete opposite, as it gives marksmen more of a reason to stay with their squad. Besides, lonewolfing marksmen is only a problem if you are completely brain dead, you can literally just tell them to stay with the squad or be kicked.

marksman isn't another rifleman with a scope and no ammo bag. marksman should stay away from the squad and provide them with information and support them if needed

well ill throw in my opinion also..first and in case people dont know, the "range finder" (atack marker) on sl is not acurate after some range therefore theres is no acurate way for infantry range.

i think it would also make the class more useful to range not for itself but for others, especialy the hat and at that you see running around trying to get close to vehicles because they have a ♥♥♥♥♥ analog ranger. its a modern warfare game after all.

the most important point in my opinion and one that people tend to not pay atention is that the marksman scope itself doesnt alow you to "snipe", you are not efective at 400 plus ranges with that scope, and the range finder would not make that much of a diference.

im all for the sniper role even tho i would max it out at 2 per team, but i think this "No sniper" rule is actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the marksman role because they fear that if they improve it too much it will turn it into a sniper not a marksman.

Just spend some time in the shooting range, doesn't take much to end up ranging just by eye balling the size of your target.

As for helping AT range, the margins of error they have against their targets lets them just estimate from the map. If they can't do that then they will probably miss even if you did give them the exact distance.
