A marksman worthy of the name should be able to zero with only a reticle and WERM. In the mayhem of the game 90% of the time you'll get away with a ranging shot.
Learn this correctly and you won't want everyone else to have range finders.
i think it would also make the class more useful to range not for itself but for others, especialy the hat and at that you see running around trying to get close to vehicles because they have a ♥♥♥♥♥ analog ranger. its a modern warfare game after all.
the most important point in my opinion and one that people tend to not pay atention is that the marksman scope itself doesnt alow you to "snipe", you are not efective at 400 plus ranges with that scope, and the range finder would not make that much of a diference.
im all for the sniper role even tho i would max it out at 2 per team, but i think this "No sniper" rule is actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the marksman role because they fear that if they improve it too much it will turn it into a sniper not a marksman.
As for helping AT range, the margins of error they have against their targets lets them just estimate from the map. If they can't do that then they will probably miss even if you did give them the exact distance.
