Could you writw down your system please? How many FPS you get ? Which video option you set?
I almost decided to buy i3 8100 and then just want to make sure about AMDs impact on the squad. Otherwise, I am going to pay 100 pounds more for intel system because of z350 motherboard series for intel 8th generations and monitor so on.
AMD Ryzen 3 1200 3.1 Ghz
8 GB 24000 Mhz DDR RAM
GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB 128 bit
Asrock AB350 Motherboard
VS
i3 8100 3.6 GHZ
8 GB 24000 Mhz DDR RAM
GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB 128 bit
MSI Z370 Motherboard.

the i3 8100 is about 20% faster than ryzen 1200..so go whit the i3
and gaming is 81% for i3 and 67% for ryzen ..BIG difference right dere !
Ok folks. I certainly decided that I will buy i3 8100. It seems it worths (I hope so).
It is too late :)) I ordered
But it seems once you get a decently capable cpu squad runs pretty good. It's still very hard to hold a rock solid 60. But if your expectations are in line with other games like arma, squad's optimization will do you just fine.
Bad decision you made there mate.
I have ordered only cpu so far. I am waiting for new mobo series for 8th generation. As you know, now it is not reasonable compared to b350 series.
i3 8100 is a lot cheaper than a Ryzen 1600 and you will need a good motherboard and a good cooler if you are to have any hope of reaching up to 4GHz on a Ryzen. Even then Ryzen is only just as good as the i3 8100 in games.
It only makes sense to buy a Ryzen if you do other tasks besides gaming that require a lot of threads.
Thats not true --> a good mobo and cooler is only important for Ryzen 7 because of the eight cores (as do I have). When you check serious pc magazines and forums about pc harware, the R5 1600 goes easily with an B350 Mobo and the stock cooler to reach something like 3.6/3.7GHz, because the R5 has "only" 6 cores(and 12 Threads)
I have a Ryzen 7 1700X + Brocken 3 and I have more power than a i3 8100 in games, just because I have more threads/cores.
But otherwise, the i3 8100 costs something around 110€, the R5 1600 cost about 200€, so if you bought the i3 8100 cause of money, it was the right choice.
