Whenever you hear someone presenting nonsense as though it were fact, just click your balls together 3 times and say "There's no place like the objective"
Very useful and easy to pull up on any web browser on your phone or tablet. Pretty useful tool and can be accurate down to sub-sub-sub coords.
Also, as mentioned, using a marker is not accurate. Useful for bearing but thats about it. Your SL should only use those markers as points of intrest for inf/vehicle movement. That being said, your SL should call out map coordinates for the mortar men to plug in and deal with themselves, then after the first salvo SLs or squad members with visual on target should call for an adjustment of fire if needed. Granted coords were called out and you plugged everything in correctly, first rounds should land accurately. (wow!)
Being able to send rounds down range without the use of a calculator takes practice, and in most cases it would take more time to hit a target due to adjusting after missing the first couple salvos. Plus everyone on the recieving end is now fully aware that your team has mortars up and are dialing them in on their position. (have fun hitting anything)
