How do I change kit?

I would like something else than that standard AK.

You can select a kit after joining a squad. If you jump into a game solo without selecting a squad to join you can't pick anything else you just get the standard kit (Russia/insurgent/Militia = AK, Us = M4)

Join a squad first. Depending on the size of the squad kits will be unlocked. You select these in the spawn menu. You can also find an ammo crate and change your kit there. Again, without being in a squad you are stuck to the default kit. Squads are everything in Squad.
