EDIT:
Tried reinstall. It worked... sort of. The output options actually appeared this time, but when I clicked on one and hit apply, they all went away ;( I have almost 300 hours in Squad and I don't want this issue to be what makes me stop playing the game. It's my favorite game.
C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\Local\SquadGame
Just make sure to validate files on steam after doing this.
So what their saying is you need to go to your file manager, and enter this file path vvv
C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\Local\SquadGame
then replace where it says "your name" with your PC name
IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR NAME IS ON YOUR PC SKIP THIS vvvv
To see what your PC name is, you can go to files manager, click your (C:) drive, click the "Users" file, then you can see the users name there
Once you've entered the file name, hover your mouse over Local where you just pasted the file path and click. Find the Squad file folder, then delete it.
Now return to steam, click the cog wheel on the game page inside of your game library, go to the properties of the game and click Local Files, Then press "Verify integrity of game files..." Wait for that to finish, then you're done!
Edit: TL;DR: How to delete then verify your game file
I tried this, it did not work
THX, it worked. First time in four years this happened to me
My game is displaying nothing in the output devices list but I got sound just fine.
Just go to Windows settings and select the Default Audio Output device.
On win 10 also go to "Mixer" and double check the selected output audio device for Squad.
Uninstall Soundpads, Soundboards and all other Virtual Audio crap from your system. Make sure if you are using an HDMI to output your picture, that Windows HD Audio device is not selected by default, or disable it altogether from Device Manager just to be sure.
