Squad
Fatal error: Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D Device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')
Every time I launch the game I receive the above mentioned Fatal Error.
[File:D:\build_412\Engine\Source\Runtime\Windows\D3D11RHI\Private\D3D11Util.cpp][Line: 176]
Fatal error: Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D Device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')

I also get low FPS (35-40 depending on the map) that is unchanged by detail/resolution. eg. exact same fps at 1080p low as 1440p epic.

I am running on the following:
i7 5820k
ASUS GTX 1080
8GB Ram

Everyone's getting fatal errors. FPS is because your CPU is bottlenecking you, Squad is very hard on your CPU. That's still a little bit low considering you're probably running 3.3GHz, I'm running 3.4GHz and a GTX 660 Ti, and I'm getting a solid 50-70 on medium/high graphics in multiplayer matches. Update your drivers, it might solve both the error and your performance. I also heard disconnecting and reconnecting after a match works for some people.

can I get you to go to support.joinsquad.com and creating a ticket?
attach your log and dump files if you have any (you can find an article on that site on how to grab them or use the suicidal troubleshooter)

Worth noting is that I seem to have resolved the issue. On the troubleshooting page I originally missed the advice to completely clean GPU drivers. I did this and it seems to be working.

Oddly enough, I seem to have also found a workaround to my woeful FPS issue. After launching the game, I need to toggle between fullscreen, to borderless then back again and boom! 60fps.

At least it's not a complete lost cause pending a patch :)

Roger. thanks for the update!

that is super weird..
D3D is usually a device driver error. Updating to latest drivers is usually never a bad idea.

At least I've been able to play now, however on full servers across al lthe maps I'm still encountering low FPS regardless of graphical settings.

I don't have any software to monitor individual core load on my CPU, however it certainly seems like something in the game code isn't utilizing my CPU/GPU very well. Neither CPU or GPU ever get anywhere near full load when playing, yet my FPS tanks. My specs are in the original post and the game should really be running at 60fps in 1440p on that setup. Bring on the optimization :)

I have this same problem (I know it's 2 years later). I've installed newest NVIDIA drivers (GTX 1070) with a clean install.

So what exactly did you have to do to fix the Fatal Error by UE4? Can you tell us the process in steps, please?
