And ensure you have texture pool capped to VRAM amount else it overflows and that leads to low quality MIP maps being loaded instead.
Sadly, I set my graphics all to low below the vram and it still has the same issue.
Someone on Post Scriptum forum recommended I delete all the games files and do a fresh install of it.
Have you tried something in the middle ?
Have you deleted your saved files in AppData\local\Squad or reset cache using ingame setting ?
I uninstalled everything and deleted the files again
I'll also try that out by setting that setting to middle to see if that fixes it
I'll try that as well to see if that works too.
Update on my graphical issue, it has all been fixed thanks to selecting texture streaming pool size feature.
Thanks for the help guys!!!
Cheers!!!
Well "Texture Quality" doesn't seem to be the same as Texture Streaming. You stated that Texture Streaming Scalability set to Low may restrict my memory pool and thus the blurry textures.
I have everything on "low" and I still have blurry textures, just setting the "texture quality" to epic doesn't change that.
I can fix bad quality textures with uncapping the pool size, but it immediately cuts my fps down to 20. I read that anything lower than 4gb of VRAM causes this, but I do have 4gb. I don't want the game to look fantastic, I just don't want it to look like a vanilla skyrim cabbage. Ideas?
So Low/Medium will intentionally cap streaming pool and force stops higher quality MIP maps from streaming in.
So texture quality or texture streaming, depending if the game in question renamed the option or split them to their components.
Don't remmeber how it is named for Squad or any random UE4 game for that matter.
Obsolete GPUs with 2GB of VRAM will suffer naturally in large UE4 games like Squad or SCUM.
Maybe you can alter Engine.ini and tweak r.Streaming.PoolSize manually, but iirc Squad is not really reading INI files to prevent exploits.
