So, if I end up joining after queuing for ages because a bunch of people have left at the end of a map, then I get kicked shortly after spawning on the server's new map, maybe after 1 or 2 minutes, with an EAC error message.
I have always had this and stopped worrying about it years ago. Would be nice to have a fix though.
Tips:
While you're in the queue, if you see your place jumping forward quite quickly, it might be a good time to leave the queue! It probably indicates a map change. Wait 30 secs then try.
Or speak to people currently on the server you're trying to join (Im often trying to join a server a friend is on, so this can work): ask them to msg you when the map changes. Time your join attempt right.
fix it pls
Same - did you find a fix?
I don't know if this is related, but I spotted the following in Squad.log after one failed login attempt: "squad Player: Not Authed, cant check ownership of any appids"
Sometimes you're able to join servers just fine, but then the bug might strike again when the server is switching maps. This is extremely annoying when you got a good teams going in-game and just drop off or are unable to join after queuing to server for a long time. This problem needs to be addressed ASAP!
I've tried to troubleshoot this by deleting the "EasyAntiCheat" -folder in the Squad game folder and then checking the game file integrity in Steam. This seemed to help a bit, although it's hard to determine. I still keep getting stuck in the loading screen and the authentication fails ever so often.
I've also checked that the "Easy Anti-Cheat (Epic Online Services)" -service is started when the game starts. The problem is not related to server network latency (ping) either. It happens on server with 40ms ping and also on 120ms ping servers.
Dear Devs, you need to solve this thing. It's much worse than some random sound bugs or the like. This is really hurting the game now. Work with the Easy anti-cheat's people or do whatever you need to, but PLEASE rise the priority of solving this issue.
I just uninstalled Squad and am I'm the process of reinstalling the whole crap. I even deleted the \AppData\Local\SquadGame -folder for a good measure. It didn't get removed when I uninstalled the game. We'll see if this is going to do anything, but I'm not holding my breath.
Some people on the servers said they didn't have any problems while some claimed having the exact same issues. All I know this started with 6.0.1 -patch. Before that I had the loading screen bug every now and then, but most of the time the game worked fine. Now it's borderline unplayable.
I wish the DEVS would comment on this crap and let us know they are actually planning on trying to sort this out.
I've also created a ticket to Offworld industries' support few days ago and sent them all my game logs. If this keeps going on for long, I'm going to haul my ass to Arma 3 and forget a bout Squad.
Altho I did try disabling the whole Avast before submitting the ticket and back then it made no difference. I sent Offworld my logs and process monitor recordings and based on them, they said that Avast is interacting the game and recommended disabling or removing it.
So I actually have no clue why it started working now or what fixed it. Or if the problem was/is at my end at all.
