Squad
Constant Crashing: Game is completely unplayable
Like the title says. I can load into a server but the game inevitably crashes around 1 minute after spawning in. This happens literally every time. I just tried 5 times in a row before giving up.

System specs:
GTX 1070ti, tried both over and under clocking, same result
I5 7600k @ 4.9ghz, been stable for over a year, this is not the issue
16g DDR4 3200mhz
Game is running on Samsung SSD

I've noticed extremely high Vram usage while playing, like 95%, which I have never seen in any other games.
The game has always used a lot of ram but it seems like there may be a memory leak as of .12 update but its hard to say considering the game doesn't run for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

This is not the issue I am expiriencing. I have no problem connecting or loading into a game/server. The game just crashes to desktop after maybe 2 minutes in server with no error or anything.

I went ahead and installed the test branch and the issue is stil there. No change whatsoever.

crash to desktop without an error, I have only seen this happen from 2 things:

1. Razor Synapse Software causes this
2. Recording software (shadowplay or anything recording in the background can potentially cause this)
It actually turned out to be my CPU overclock. Apparently V .12 doesn't play nice with 4.9ghz.

The only other time I've had issues with the overclock is with Battle Eye, but that causes BSODs as soon as it launches.

Oh well, I guess I'll just knock it down a peg when I play Squad.

im having same issue, the first 4 times i could only get to the main menu and then the game would crash and close and send me back to windows without a crash report but on the 5th try i managed to get into a server for maybe 4mins with really bad frame drops but just when it started to play smoothly it crashed on me and sent me back to windows but this time it had a UE4 Crash report

Im running GTX 1080, Ryzen 5 2600 6core and 16GB RAM so its not my Specs, i even updated to the latest GPU driver today and still having the same issue
Thats not the same issue. I never had issues getting into a game. If you read my last reply, my issue was solved by down clocking my CPU.

yes but as i stated after 4 tries i managed to get into the game but it crashes after a few mins, do you know if the new 12,.1 patch helped with any crash issues?
I have no idea. I solved my issue by down clocking my CPU.

I tried this and now it seems to work!

my GPU load would be constant 95% (GTX1080 Zotac Amp Extreme, Factory setting overclocked) and when it would reach 100%, freeze CTD.

I have benchmarked my card and can play other games with 100% gpu load, only UE4 based games cannot cope with my card. EFT (Escape from Tarkov ran fine at GPU 100% load)

Anyway, the above posted video just makes windows wait should the GPU not respond instantly before virtually resetting the graphic card.

Good Luck

Turn your GPU overclock down. UE4 doesn't play nice with overclocked GPUs (and now CPUs apparently). This demonstrable in any game/editor in UE4. PUBG, Squad, Hellblade, Kholat, Lawbreakers, Styx, Insurgency: Sandstorm, all of them. If my GPU is over +120mhz on the core any EU4 game will CTD exactly 5 minutes after loading the game, I have timed this. Its just something I have learned to deal with after 3 Nvidia GPUs demonstrating the same behavior time and time again. It is what it is.

Okay, will try the 120mhz gpu clock.

FYI base GPU clock of a GTX 1080 is 1733MHz, a GTX1080Amp!Extreme runs stabile with 2020Mhz
DeeDee MegaDoodoo Dec 30, 2018 @ 4:15pm
1733mhz is the minimum boost clock the GP 104 chip is rated for. They can probably hit close to 1900mhz or more without an overclock.
A 1070ti's minimum boost clock is 1635mhz but mine usually runs at 1850+mhz with no overclock. Clock speeds on factory OC'd GPUs are usually at or below 120mhz on the core, which would place it right around 2020mhz.

I can run EFT at a +210 offset with no issues, that puts my core as high as 2100mhz at times but Squad and other UE4 cames cant seem to handle anything over 1950mhz.

Anyone getting these crashes can you check your Event Viewer - Windows Sys Logs.

Are you getting an nvlddmkm error (part of Timeout Detection Recovery)?

Win 7 - 6700k @ 4.7 - 1070 @ 2055MHz
