Text chat not showing on screen. (DEVS HELP!)

Hello chat, and have I got a question for you.
In this game, I used to be able to see text chat on the top left of my screen. However, since the latest update, the only way I can view chat is via the f4 key, which is wildly inconvenient. Half the time, I only notice chat after going to the respawn screen, which makes communication very hard, especially when non-squad leaders are calling out enemy habs, vehicles, what have you.

I have already tried disabling and re-enabling 'hide game chat' IN SETTINGS, hopfully someone can help me out.
