Night maps?
I think it would be a amazing idea to have night time maps with bullet tracers flying over the maps and explosions going off. +1 if you would like this.

Probably aren't in the map rotation for the servers you're playing on.. plus.. everyone just puts their gamma to max and its no longer night.

Also, what Erohw said. In this video I had my gamma up as well (since everyone does it).

can't they disable the gamma when those maps are played

They're working on a way to fix the exploitation of gamma adjustment. For one, adding flashlights and NVGs would certainly help with that. As for disabling for specific maps, no idea. We'll have to see how they deal with it.

They can, but then you'll have people just adjust their monitor's settings.
yea but i wont be as light as the gamma being turned up

I dont think NVG or flashlights would help... people just generally dont like playing in the dark, gamma is always going to be an issue I think.. unless they can find some way to lock out being able to ♥♥♥♥ with gamma in game and on your monitors while squad is launched ( which I dont think is even possible )

Well, if it was NVGs with infrared, that alone would give them an advantage over those simply turning their gamma up. And with areas well lit, it makes NVGs less practical to use, so flashlights become more useful, in addition to their ability to blind NVG users. Again, too many ways to exploit. Hopefully the devs can come up with something that addresses this issue.

yeah, sadly... #1 priority right now is vehicles and AMD CPU fixes.. only have 1 guy on AMD issue though... they arent a big team.. they are actually hoping to generate enough income from steam sales to be able to hire someone to come in and take some of the work load off the one programmer working his ass off.

" I hate dealing with it actually, but I'm the only one that has been dealing with it, hopefully we can get someone new on board and this can be their fulltime job"

Removed name for reasons I shouldnt need to explain.. But there's the quote... copied and pasted from steam chat.

Arma 2 handled this perfectly. Any color values that should appear too dark to see would be rendered as black. This way, regardless of the user's gamma settings, dark areas remained dark across the entire userbase.

No, you turn your gamma up in arma, you can see just as well, except everything is just grey and pixelly... I do understand what you're saying though, but it didnt combat anything, you could still see just fine...

I have thousands upon thousands of hours into arma 2 btw... :P

@ Erohw - Maybe I didn't explain it myself well. Because yes, Arma 2 and 3 handles it this way. http://i.imgur.com/ZVK0Qhm.jpg

i see what you're saying... I just never had an issue spotting anyone with it.. everything would just look like a pixel blob moving and you'd be able to notice some flickering.
