Team Killing is a HUGE issue
The game seems to let people kill their teammates without penalty and there is nothing to stop it or atleast slow it down. Team Killing needs to stop like right now because the way it's currently setup is it allows people to just kill their teammates and trol around like nothing can stop them. It's kinda annoying to be honest. Like REALLY annoying. Please fix this somehow

DISCLAIMER: I really like friendly fire because it keeps you on your toes, i am not saying to remove it as that is just dumb. all i want is some sort of way to penalize team killing.

I haven't really seen any trolling of team killing. The ability to kick trolling players is enough. It's a military sim and team killing is a direct result of the fog of war. It happens in real life and is just a sad aspect of it all. A penalty would just punish people trying to play the game and do nothing to trolls.

I don't really run into the "troll killing" but i deff get a lot of random team kills by accident. My last match i was killed 6-7 times by people on my side because my name tag didn't show up to them.

I havnt bought the game, but Im assuming it will be like project reality with private servers with admins, and auto kicking after a couple teamkills in the future.

Its easy to accidentally pinsor the enemy and not be able to spot friend from foe. It happens. Throwing grenades isn't as intuative as it should be. So team kills happen. We can kick people, its fine. If we just have some way of keeping track on the score board, I think that would be enough.

Teamkills are penalized by a longer respawn timer and a negative score. I have let to see troll killing as well but I have tk'd and been tk'd. Its a mad mad mad world out there.

When its blatant, record the event and post in to the squad forums where admins will look into it:
Player name
Server
Time
Offence committed

Of course if its just a one off deal please be forgiving.

If anything, there should be on the leaderboard a teamkilled slot. In addition if you are teamkilled it should tell you who killed you therefore you can confront who did it and tell them to be more careful.

I've only killed one teammate... I was looking through a hole in the wall and it didn't give his name. I revived him while apologizing in the chat.

The problem isn't team killing... it's team killers. You know, idiot players. You can't fix stupid. You can hit it with a hammer though so start there.
Münster Mike Dec 16, 2015 @ 3:56pm
Since you can barely tell if you've teamkilled (message displayed) or gotten teamkilled (no message iirc)... I wouldn't say it's a huge issue. More like a hidden issue.

"Barely tell"? I could clearly tell when the text went across my screen and told me I team killed.
Münster Mike Dec 16, 2015 @ 3:59pm
In a firefight I am usually too focused/panicked to notice text on my screen. But I saw it once so I know it's there. Who knows how many times I've actually TKed... probably a bunch.

So...

not a big issue.

I'm considering getting this so I can play over the weekend, and I can tell you right now I am going to be doing this from time to time, by accident you understand. It's just going to happen.

The question then becomes:

1. What penalty or punishment do you introduce?
2. How do you differentiate between someone who did it accidentally and someone who is trolling?

Now you could do down the forgiveness route, where the person you Tked can opt to not punish you. But if they don't, and you get punished, this can then lead to bad feeling between other players, one of them because they are annoyed they got shot and the other because it was an accident and still got punished.

If there is one thing that would start to poison the community atmosphere it would be this.

Penalty is automatic. Its a stacking respawn delay. Someone that kills someone coming around a corner does it by accident, someone that drops a grenade in a friendly FOB full of friendlies is trolling.

Possibly, but I was watching a stream earlier where someone was in their FOB and tried to throw a grenade thrown a barricade window. It landed on top of a HESCO and killed him and two squad mates. Clearly not on purpose but an automatic system would have no way of making that determination.

i think a GPS mini map in the lower right corner like in arma 3 that shows your team mates could help a lot
Memnoch Dec 16, 2015 @ 4:12pm
I seem to remember that along the compass strip at the bottom there are green dots indicating the direction of friendlies already, or at least your squad mates. The bigger the dot the closer they are. Depending on the level of realism they are aiming for that's already unrealistic but at least it's not in your face like a mini-map system.
