Squad with xbox one controller

Hi,

i want to play this game with a xbox one elite controller. Squad supports the controller but you cannot adjust the mapping and sensitivity.

I tried to edit the config file in Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Squad\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Input and add lines like

+AxisConfig=(AxisKeyName="Gamepad_LeftX",AxisProperties=(DeadZone=0.250000,Sensitivity=1.500000,Exponent=1.000000,bInvert=False))

to adjust the sensitivity, but Squad ignores it. Am I using the correct config file and correct syntax ?

just use a keyboard and mouse.

its not nativley supported, your better off deleting any line referencing a game pad in the config file and using a 3rd party tool liek xpadder t oget the effects you want.

Yes I wanted to use xpadder, but if the native controller input is not turned off you will get lag with xpadder. I have tried to delete all game pad lines, but it seems the game ignores this. Perhaps there is another config file, or the config file has to be loaded somehow e.g. with a startup parameter in the desktop shortcut. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but i prefer the xbox one controller. Sure it is slower, but funnier for me.

Okay, I have found a solution. At first I have removed all gamepad entries in the file ..\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Squad\Squad\Config\DefaultInput
and in the file Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Squad\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Input.
Then in the game no native input from the controller is recognized. Then I use Xpadder (has lag unfortunately) or JoyToKey (woks fine) to emulate Keyboar/Mouse with the gamepad. Now everything is perfect. Thanks for the support!

False. No idea why you guys say this. I absolutely OWNED guys in the division. The kb /mouse superiority is a myth.

who knows....i think only a very few use controllers....so i doubt everyone I was owning had a controller....id guess not. Probably likely i was the only one with a controller. But there is no advantage to a kb/mouse at all. I completely owned in that game...with a xb1 controller. Thats just myth that pc elites like to spout. Sorry..its a myth.

Because controllers have much less sensivity than mouse so if someone has not claws, but hands he would react and aim on you faster than you. And don't count games with autoaim for controllers, these games suck.

Haha, The Division has auto-aim buddy. Nice try though.

The Division was a 3rd person RPG with aim-assist for people using controllers. Pretending like "pwning noobs" while using a controller in The Division means anything is like comparing going to the Moon in Kerbal Space Program and going to the Moon for real.
