Worth it purely for Galactic Contention Mod?

I'm really intriqued by the Star Wars mod and was wondering if any players of the mod could tell me if it's worth it. I don;t have anyone to play it with but is the community on there okay for newbies to jump in (and follow orders obviously, I know it's classed as a Mil Sim), or are you expected to join in with a group of friends?

I don't use it myself however I'll just say that mods need to updated so nobody is playing it right now.

I love the mod and love star wars in general. Is Squad worth buying purely for the Star Wars mod? I would say "no", purely for the reason that the Star Wars mod is not accessible at all hours of the day as well as periods of time after updates. If you're interested in playing Squad though, the Galactic Contention mod is a very fun and unique side experience for fans of Star Wars. Also, the community is generally pretty good with new comers, especially the groups/regiments/clans/etc provided you let them know you're new and put in at least a mild effort towards teamplay (medic role is a great starting point because it is one of the most valuable, simple, and accessible roles, requiring an individual to just follow their squadmates around and heal them from time to time). The Star Wars mod looks and runs like crap. anyone who says otherwise is lying and just a Star Wars fan. There's plenty of better SW games out there, give them a go.

I've only played Galactic Contention, and I think it is absolutely worth buying Squad only for it.
