How do the Squad devs combat Ultra low Quality useage?
What I mean by this, is players who set their grapics to ultra low, in order to get more kills by abusing the fact that bushes or lower textures can make it eaiser to see people in cover.

This is a problem I see in a lot of games of this genre and Since I own this game and a few other games like it (Red orchestra 2 and rising storm) As well as war thunder. Im interested in seeing how different Game devs prevent this kind of thing?

I mean like people with high performance rigs setting the grapics to the low setting, just so they can score more kills.

foliage, even at low settings is set to .6
go ahead, change your ini file with scalability.ini trying to set something less than .6, it wont let you play the game.

But that still does not fix the issue, due to some bushes being gone still and low res textures for bushes.(like even if you can see a bush, low res allows you to still see better then non low res)

But your saying that bushes are always there even on low res? Thats a decent idea, but with low res textures, it doesn't 100% fix the problem, but better then nothing.

Not much, and there isn't much they can do. To be honest though, I never got this argument. Maybe it helps when you are just starting out or something but I went from literally all low settings to the highest settings and I still get a similar amount of kills if not more

that may very well be true, but the problem is, bushes at longer distances when using low settings, will not appear til you get closer.
But on high settings those bushes are visable for a lot longer of a distance. Meaning that out at like 100m(for example), bushes will not pop in til you get closer. So people who think they are safe behind bushes, due to concelmeant, will not be safe.

A big example of this is on war thunder, if you do not play that game on anything below high settings, you will get deleted out of the game, from miles away. By people who can see you through said bushes, for the fact that they can't see the bushes rendering, but you can see their vehicle render.

Players on Low grapics:Why TF is he trying to cross an open field like that?

Players on high grapics:how TF is he able to see and shoot me from that far away?

Also, Nvidia and AMD other different adjustments via drivers. Early on Nvidia card were highly used for their graphical control of the way in the drivers can eliminate curtain textures ingame without being detected and considered a exploit or cheat. Example: A team would be at a disadvantage because the sun would be in their eyes, due to the card you could make this feature null so, eliminate the sun sprites so the on coming assault would be clear to see. Also this same feature eliminated the smoke effect, say I thru smoke an waited till it filled the area then advanced thinking my path as covered, but to no effect. This was an abvious advantage the card was able to provide and was able to counter only be the admin watching and addressing over a short period of smoke cover being of no effect. No not surppressive M249 but accurate point rifle shot.

That sounds like a total nightmare.

I didnt buy a $2000 PC with a $700 monitor to turn ♥♥♥♥ on low. I still get atleast a dozen kills every game.

I didnt buy a $2000 PC with a $700 monitor to turn ♥♥♥♥ on low. I still get atleast a dozen kills every game.
Well I didn't buy a 500$ gaming computer with a 200$ moniter to do so either, but its still an issue in many games I play.

Grass doesn't render, but trees and bushes do. They also added fog fx out to certain distance to combat the exploits at long range due to low settings.

It will probably get better as the devs fix up optimization. Its just one of those things that I expect in games. There will always be goofy sweaty dudes that do everything that they can to get the most kills that they can.

What I do wonder is how often people actually notice if they have been killed due to this kind of exploitation? I've asked a couple of buddies and they like me have said that they never think of it. They always chalk up their death to their fault, bad positioning, etc, rather than due to the action of a tryhard. How many other people don't really notice it?

Only tryhards that really get to me are the ones who spam lean and ADAD while shooting to exploit hit registration.
