I've noticed this about RPG's...
I usually play as AT. I also noticed that under a certain disatabce, the RPG just fires and stays stuck in whatever I fire it at (may it be a wall, the ground, or a vehicle) also, no explosion. Is this a safety feature or something? I did read that under certain distances RPG's did not explode to prevent the user from being blown up by his own RPG. Is it in effect in-game, and is it true? (I've also hear some people say in-game that it might be a rendering or performance issue or whatnot, too)
Also, as a bit of a random question, is jamming gonna be added at some point? Like, your gun randomly hammers no or something? (AK's much less, of course)

Yes RPGs have an arming distance and its modeled in game. 40mm grenades have a similar feature and it is also modeled.

No, there will be no jamming in game. RNG mechanics that are entirely beyond the player's control will not be added.

10 meter arming range for those weapons

Darn it. Right. Also, any chance we'll see AT guts equipped with grenades like riflemen. Fragmentation ones? (Anti-tank, maybe? Do they even exist? Anti-tank grenades?)

I doubt it. There has to be some balance to the different roles to make them all useful. If LAT had grenades as well as AT why would anyone ever play as a rifleman?

We also have to see what the kit customization brings as well.

? what's the difference?

Well the LAW was replaced by the AT-4 almost 30 years already it was mainly used during the Vietnam War. And i find it much harder to hit with the LAW on long ranges than with the RPG. Plus, Project Reality also had the AT-4 for US Infantry.

how is it harder to hit at longer ranges witha LAW then an RPG? Also, isn't the LAW also firing RPG's, therofore, also making it an RPG?

The LAW has a greater Ballistic Drop on shorter Distances in my opinion at least gameplay wise.
And yes its also an RPG in terms of the meaning and function but the overall modell is not the same, the warhead is not the same f.e.
Wich doesnt matter at all. im just wondering why the Devs choose an outdated LAT Weapon for the US Infantry. As i loved the AT-4 punch back in PR but thats just personal preference. I dont know it just feels weird to play with modern equippment and then theres an AT Weapon from the 60s. Keeps bothering me.

The AT-4 is heavy, you can only carry one of them. The M72 is great for clearing positions and you can carry a couple of them. The M72 in the game is also a more modern version of the weapon. The rocket itself is drastically better than the old A2 versions. The M72 is still used by the armed forces, it works great.

Plus there aren't really any proper armoured targets in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The Raider class for insurgents has 2 AT grenades

Yeah but in Squad youre not only fighting in Afghanistan or Iraq. Also, the M72 has a 66mm Round while the AT4 has about 80mm the RPG-7 also has around 80 MM Round, so it would have a equal punch, considering the RPG Class has a total of 4 Rockets packed. Also the LAW may still be in Service (im not so sure of this-->) i dont think its standard issue. I dont need to carry 2 LAWs if i cant hit targets above 300 MEter because i cant see them due to the M72s weird Ironsights as i have to aim so far up. Id rather pack a single AT4 that enables me to actually aim properly. While 2 AT4s per Squad should be enough to deal with anything. Having only 2 but slightly more powerfull LATs would even balance out the superior scopes on the US Rifles.

Are you serious? Just because they are near the same caliber does not mean they will have near the same properties. That is like saying a panzerschreck from WWII will the same knock out power as an AT-4 and that is not the case. Yes, the M72 is still in service and yes they are given out a lot because they are cheap, light, easy to use, ect. The sights on the newer M72 is pretty much the same sight as on the AT-4, a rifle sight.

The Sight itself might be similar still the AT4 has its located rather on the side than on the top wich makes it at least for a game easier to aim with. Also the Caliber may not be THAT important in Terms of effectivity, while thats not entirely true because of course larger calibers give you slightly larger charges, it affects a number of factors such AS flight distance. And i think theres no doubt that in Squad at least the LAW has a much greater ballistic drop than the RPG. Plus, they only given out alot because 1. right, they are cheaper but 2. because there are not many heavily armored vehicles in the War on Terror. The LAW is not designed to penetrate actual modern day armor. Certain AT4 Rounds actually are capable of doing so. THis is all pretty theoretical as we dont have T90s in Squad yet. Still, my opinion stays the same. I dont know maybe i just like the AT4 more and as it was present in PR i figured it would/should find its way into Squad aswell.

Not sure but I think it is still in heavy usage because of what I said, it's perfect for the USA's recent conflicts. EDIT: US Marines ordered 7.75K M72s in 2011, dunno about US Army.

However, for the upcoming RUS armour, we should be getting the Javelin eventually.
