On that note though, I really hope that they add damage stages (e.g. tracks or turret disabled, but otherwise functional), and that trucks getting hit by LAT rounds at least kills the driver, it feels ridiculous to land a hit on a truck and it just keeps on trucking (pun intended).
Also, vehicles are not all powerful, in many situations infantry have the advantage. Next time, instead of driving that full Stryker straight into the cap zone, stop 300 meters away and have the infantry dismount and do their jobs.
Don't listen to all those people screaming "it's a video game, real life tactics don't apply" and you'll be surprised just how easy it is to nullify AT power.
In my opinion that's exactly what's happening with the HAT kit. Everyone is used to these light skinned vehicles being very tanky and used as assault vehicles but the HAT kit has disrupted that. Now people are even more upset.
I would bet you that if we had started with HMMWVs and technicals taking one LAT to kill and BTRs only taking two then we wouldn't have an issue here. Part of it is perception of course. Seeing the HAT be more than four times as powerful as a LAST kit is disturbing to some but it's got to be more powerful to be worth it I'm the first place. Been to long since I've played PR, cat remember if HAT kits there could one shot MBTs or if it took two.
For effectively operating a support vehicle, I guess you need very good knowledge of the terrain*. It's about picking positions out of enemy AT-range from which you have clear fire lines to support your team. There is no need for getting any closer than necessary. Also, going to hull down-positions might make it more difficult for enemy RPGs and enemy vehicles to hit you, and concealment is also a good idea. The vehicles' main advantage is their reach. In the game, however, they're often used as spearheads. If it becomes necessary for the vehicle to operate within AT-danger-distance, it should be very well supported by infantry. Woods and villages are infantry terrain, not vehicle terrain.
My heart bleeds whenever a game starts with: "We take this BTR/humvee/whatever and go straight to "insert OBJ closest to enemy main here"". The next moment we're heading right towards the center of the OBJ at full speed. And plop! There goes our BTR and 30+ tickets (and we don't have a rally anywhere close).
* Unfortunately, at this state, I think the ingame map is severely lacking. It's extremely hard to get a somewaht clear picture of the terrain by looking at the map. I think it would greatly profit from contour-lines, indexed terrain features (http://steamcommunity.com/app/393380/discussions/0/135514231765331330/) and perhaps a closer zoom.
Sure, there is a balance issue, but to make things realistic, we should make LATs more powerful, not the other way around. Or just issue every rifleman a single LAW / RPG22.
