I wish, I had known, that I shouldn't have turned in the quests, where you have to collect weapons... still trying to finish them(kill 200 each) and the collection achievement.
Not sure what you mean by those quests.
Been ages since I played this game, until earlier today. Hoping someone knows where to get the stuff for repairing that portal thing (currently looking at the other game's discussions in hope someone mentions it there).

Keywords for anyone searching for this: Portal Gates, Magic Gems, Magic Items, Portal Blueprint Pieces.
Yes, thanks. Found the answer too, by now. :)
No end in sight.

I don't think the timed quests are a good way to continue playing, all you get there is gold, xp, and those sun and moon crystals for the portal. It's a good way to get rid of piles of wood and stuff, but well... What for?
There isn't really much story in this current update either. And the game behind the portal still feels lazy.
I'd much prefer more normal story, and a rewind of the first long-awaited update that decided you're suddenly the child of the original char. I want to continue on as the original character! :)
Well, you have to take into account that I have tons of resources lying around (so those 8h quests are instant fullfilled with 2 clicks), and a good amount of energizers (for stuff that involves HO locations), and a ton of weapons (for the quests that want you to beat up monsters).
With all that, it wasn't difficult to get the 50 or so sun crystals and breeze through the portal minigame things.
You repair the portal, then:
To open the portal once repaired, you need a moon crystal, which opens it for 24h.
After that you get to follow some path with 50 stops (you see bits of it on the "Hrmpf" screenshot up there), with a minigame where you have to click 2 or 3 identical items off a pile until the pile is gone. (Which I find a bit lazy, developer-wise.)

They get mildly harder, with more stuff to click away, at the end it was 90 pairs or something, if I remember right. (I didn't need a 2nd attempt on any of them. Maybe because I had the +1 min time for HO locations booster active, not sure if that was added to the minigame or not.)
Each of these stops/minigames needs one sun crystal to start.
You get the sun (and moon) crystals in the 8h quests.
I don't know what you mean by "safe". You can of course pile up sun and moon crystals until there's another update, to then rush through the portal when/if there's ever anything added behind it.
