From what I know, this holds true of the PC version.
Of course, it was written so that anyone can enjoy it without any knowledge of the previous titles. However, those who have played one, or both will enjoy many references to the original story. And of course, talking to Wheelbarrows :)
If you're feeling nostalgic for the older titles, free PC versions can be found on the same PDAmill site you mentioned above, although you may need a magnifying glass to play it on todays super HD displays ;)
