Supremacy victory & Umbral Choir
After a 100 turns, it's easy to hold all faction capitals... unless there is an Umbral choir player. It is 150 turns, i have searched a large deal of the galaxy, especially where they technically should be, since they started hacking around me very early, but no luck. Obviously i have maximum invisibility detection.

The thing is, supremacy victories are very easy. But if there are Umbral choir players, you may as well just pick another victory path because it's not worth the pain.

How do you most effectively find Umbral Choir bases?

Make a handful of scout ships with maxed anti-cloaking, max speed and send them around the special nodes.
Maybe also anti-cloaking probes, to leave some extra detection behind for later, since you'll have to find them twice, because they always teleport the system if you go near with a big fleet after you know where they are.

Thats quite a pain when your scout ships are stopped and attacked on every node the land on. The whole galaxy is aggressive towards me.

In this game i eventually found them by chance. My giant influence zone uncovered a new special node way waaaay out of the way (barely reachable by probe) and from there it was easy.

But still, you'd win all other victory types before you take over an UC home system...

Why even turn Penumbra on? It makes the game worse, with all the annoyances and additional micro. I only play with Penumbra if I want to play as UC myself.

Use cloaking on them too, for some more safety. Of course, this all makes them slower so it'll take longer to travel around.

Why even comment if you have nothing useful to say?

I want my games to be as random as possible and that includes against whom i fight. There isn't an UC player every time. Just turning on a DLC if i wanna profit from it is lame imho.
