Will we ever see an ES3?
What are your thoughts?
What would you like to see in it?

I suspect we wont see one for another 4-5 years.
I like to see more balance between strategic resource ships and non strategic resource ships.
As is, a ship built with strategic resources is barely more powerful than a ship made with no strategic resources.

As well as more ship customization options.

We will most likely see Endless Space 3 after Endless Dungeon and Endless Legend 2, likely around 2029, based on their previous release cycle.

Yeah not anytime soon but should happen if the studio survives.

Survives? I thought they were doing pretty well. I haven't heard of them having any issues? They always make great games and I love their style and UI designs. Sets them apart from others. It would be a shame if they vanish.

I hope before 2029.

i suppuse he is referencing the fact that their last title "Humankind" did not sell too well. I mean it didn't eclipse the civilization series and frankly the game is very awkward.
also leaving the russian market does not help them financially.

Basically if their next game "endless dungeon" fails, it might be the end? i hope not

Being able to add new planets or make megastructures like Ringworlds and Dyson Spheres. We have ships that can destroy entire systems in one shot, why not have Behemoths be able to take some asteroids and planetesimals and tractor beam them together into a lava planet? Having more than 5 planets in a system (and a way to automate shuffling populations around on each planet) would also be nice.

Giving luxuries a use besides selling, boosting pops, and putting in your system development (And being able to change system development as well). You inevitably end up with a bunch of luxuries that are largely useless to you over the course of the game. Better yet, how about being able to have multiple system development plans that you can use to specialize each system to do one thing really well i.e have one with all industry bonuses, one with science bonuses, and one with trade bonuses? As it stands I literally have no reason to pick any of the trade bonus luxuries because I could just put industry or science in there.

Maybe have your pops demand a constant supply of certain luxuries that you'll need to import; in exchange you get more approval and FIDSI bonuses, but if you can't meet their demands they get upset. Pops won't demand any luxuries at system level 1, but at levels 2 and higher they'll progressively want more.

Trade and hacking could also use some work; I barely touch trade until like 100 turns into the game because I feel like it's more necessary to get the best and longest trade route possible than to just get it working now. I feel like trade subsidiaries and companies should also gain bonuses from every adjacent inhabited system, not just systems directly on their route; if you have a bunch of systems that are all connected through a single node, that central node would naturally have a lot of trade going through it, and would be ideal for a trade company.
