Hero ship Hull Size Small Only?

Hey peeps,

New to the Endless Space ordeal, just thought I would ask if the Hero ships cannot be upgraded to larger hulls or if it is possible to recruit heroes who come with bigger hulls natively? or is it only small hulls for heroes regardless?

The reason I ask is they seem to get killed when they fly with big ships of the third tier?

What gives? anyone knows?

You must upgrade heroes ships once you hit next era. Heroes got small ships related to their class. They can hold in battle once upgraded. Also heroes got special skills for their ships and fleets to boost shields/hull etc.

Wait, you can upgrade your hero ships after you reach a certain era?

You mean the upgraring that's posttible all the time from the hero page or something else?

Just checked and I can't seem to change the hull of the hero ship. I can upgrade it with better armor / weapons but no hull changes.

Yeah bigger hero ships would be great. Else I noticed, that they are all very similar in style and colour. I wish they're ships would look more like the ship sets of the faction they belong to.

Would love to more variety of Hero Ships, and much much larger Fleets for love of god.
