Debug menu?
hey devs
i noticed people hacked the game and managed to open the debug menu
what exactlly can be done through the debug menu ?
Can i add more planets and systems ?
Add or remove tech from the oponents factions (for instance if i want one faction to be super strong so they are harder to fight against)
that sort of thing

and btw , why didn't you open the debug menu by default to anyone wishing to use it ?

I'm not sure what you are referring to specifically, could you perhaps give us the link where you got that information?

Thanks!

Thank you for the link, we'll investigate!

already did
its a full blown Debug menu , i just used it
it allows you to kill off empires
add resources , tech etc
its obviously an in game debug menu so its just a matter of them hacking the game to open it
now a question , why not just open it for everyone and be done with it ?

There are lots of potential issues with having a debug menu available, from supporting compatibility issues or exotic simulation behavior to enforcing a fair multiplayer.

obviously ,
thats your job ;)
but with all due respect it shouldn't be hard to allow player to play with the debug menu in SP only
do you think there is a real problem with that ?

Even if it was easily enfoceable (in its current iteration, it isn't), unleashing a million potential false positive bugs when people mess up with the simulation is something we're really keen on avoiding.

We'll probably have some cheats implemented for single player, but it's very unlikely that it will be a full debug mode like this. :steamhappy:
