Is there any way around the Forced Truce then Closed Border Combo?
I'm vastly superior to all my opponents (I'm Sophons and was able to get to end-game T3 military tech while my opponents are still at T1.5 and 2. 1 of my ships is equivalent to a fleet of my enemy) but theres 3 overlapping zones of influence from 3 different factions. I'm at turn 100+ so each faction has influence spanning most of the map. Closed borders prevents movement within their influence. I'm constantly at Forced Truce + Closed Borders with at least 1 of the 3 factions, so I'm basically never able to move, anywhere. I've seen a few people mentioning this on this forum but haven't seen any responses with solutions. It's really annoying and I'm just spamming end turn for 5 minutes each time in order to get 1-2 turns of free movement until it resets with another Forced Truce and Closed Border.

P.S:
Despite issues like this, this is still the best early access I've ever played. I'm at 30 hours or so this week (Thanksgiving weekend) and still loving it.

Over on games2gether, dev Adelahaye said, "The current implementation of the mechanic is not final and is currently being worked on! Your patience shall be rewarded."

So, fingers crossed! It can only get better, right?

I had the same thing last game, overlapping influence circles with one empire's colonies in another empire's borders, meant I needed simultaneous wars with several empires to attack anything.

Next game I'm going to try maxing influence, mainly to avoid this problem. Early on it seems like even a small influence advantage - like having +5 more influence generation on your system than the nearest competitor - will push the borders very quickly. I've seen a small change like a single building or hero skill abruptly reverse an influence struggle. Then later in the game when one empire's borders are overwhelmed after a hundred turns of generating less influence, it's almost impossible to reverse that advantage.

If you make impossible demands they will declare war again. You make demands by going to the diplomacy screen (the one where you see all races) and clicking the little document image on the outside edge of a race's little triangle. I've also had it show up for a race I was in normal cold war with.
