Edit: Keep in mind, for additional free content you need to create an account in official Amplitude forum and link it with your Steam account.
I don't particularly recommend Awakening for anyone but enthusiasts of the game. It was never properly balanced, even after several changes, and the Academy Fleet is still WAY too dominant of the early game, especially.
Dark Matter, Celestial Worlds and Untold Tales add some quests to the game which is nice, gives more to do and honestly probably some of the most underrated dlcs, especially when you consider you get so many new quests for 62p per dlc on this sale. I quite enjoy getting quests done but if thats not your thing then feel free to pass on these.
Awakening adds a really unique and fun faction, the Nakalim, but if you plan on playing modless then the academy part of the expansion will ruin your game, so dont do that.
Penumbra adds hacking and the Umbral Choir, the former is a mechanic that youll either forget exists or youll just use it to be a gremlin, the latter is a really fun, really unique community-made faction. Completely optional.
Vaulters adds the Vaulters as well as a bunch of other small things, the vaulters are kinda pointless but the rest of the additions make this a fine dlc.
Lost Symphony adds a soundtrack and a new minor faction, if you care for either then 62p isnt so bad.
Supremacy adds what is imo the most fun faction in the game, the Hissho, as well as the behemoths, which are insanely big ships that can be used for fighting, generating dust, science, industry, food, essence for vodyani, making things cheaper, terraforming, undepleting planets and destroying entire systems. For all of these reasons I think this DLC is a must have honestly, but you'll get by fine without it at the same time.
Harmonic Memories adds a sound track and a new hero, I don't know what the odds of getting this hero are, nor do I know if its any more than a reskin of other heroes, so if the soundtrack is important, feel free.
---------------------------
the rest of the dlc are either free updates on steam, or there are another 3 "hidden" ones on the G2G website:
Community Challenge Add-On DLC adds a new galaxy shape (honestly the best looking one too imo), a new event, hero and some new combat modules.
Uthassum Rhamoezz DLC adds a new hero with that name, once again i have no idea to his abilities cus ive not seen him since ive gotten it/ paid attention to the hero names so i have no idea.
Muck & Makers adds a new minor faction, new quest and a new hero so yeah thats nice.
You forgot about the hero "Esseb Veltaros - the Archivist". Each year between the 21st to 25th of January Amplitude celebrates the "Endless Day". In this timeframe you can trigger a special-quest, when starting new game, what will unlock the hero. If I'm not wrong, it's the same for all Endless games.
You could manually set back your system date to 21st -25th of january. This way you can activate the quest in a new game for to get the archivist.
I'd only recommend DLCs if you get them cheaply as a bundle, or have already played the game and really love it.
