Depleted Planets & climate engineering module
Is it possible to use the advanced climate engineering module to restore depleted planets?

No. The extreme terraforming module lets you rebuild planets that have been destroyed (like by Core Crackers), but does not recover depletion.

I think advanced climate engineering module does cancel depletion, two points per turn. At least that is what it says in the description in the technology tree.

It works, but it's pretty slow.

How slow is slow?
I see partially depleted planets being restored in green text font when you hover over the depleted icon.
No tooltip for depleted planets.

It works on fully depleted planets as well. Just leave the behemoth in orbit around the system, and leave it alone: the first turn it will not display anything. Thereafter, however, you will see it slowly draining depletion points (two points per module). You'll see how long it takes when you mouse-over the depleted symbol in the system view. Except for the first full turn - my mistake, and I'm sure many others as well, was in assuming "that made no difference, might as well re-locate the behemoth". But just stick with it: it will de-deplete, or... plete.
