Can't start the game
I press "play" on steam, the game seems to start for about 5 seconds, and then... nothing. The "play" button becomes green again. I am playing on an MSI Leopard GP76 laptop with an RTX 3700 Mobile. All drivers are up to date. Any suggestions ?

Try loading the most up to date GPU driver from your Laptop manufacturers site as it may have hardware specific tweaks that the generic driver has yet to include.

Open your graphic card's control panel and follow these instructions:

- NVidia control Panel

Click on Manage 3D Settings.
Click on Program settings
Click on Add a program
Select Endless Space 2
Select "Apply"
Close the Control Panel
Restart your computer and launch the game.

Or this one?

Bad performance with a nVIDIA card

Please verify if your monitor is plugged into the GPU and not the default slot of the motherboard.
Go to the nVIDIA control panel.
Then go to “Manage 3D Settings”, “Program Settings”.
Look for or add “Endless Space 2” on the drop-list and tell nVIDIA to use the high performance graphics processor instead of the on-board graphics card.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried them. Still doesn't work. ES2 starts for a couple of seconds and then just vanishes.

Might be too late, but in case someone has the same issue.
Browse the game files, right click the .exe - compatibility - check "run this program as administrator"

Run as admin once, there's a recent issue with windows/steam and permissions, usually running as admin once is enough.
