Missing save game files

Annoying issue resolved. I would play, save game, return the next day and many of my save game files were gone. It only happened some of the time. I'd start a new game, go to save it and the missing files would sometimes mysteriously reappear! I play with cloud save off. In fact, I turned it off because I was having this issue but that did not fix the problem. Tried verify files, uninstall/reinstall, no joy.
Finally, I found that the game was saving the files in 2 locations:
This PC > Documents > Endless space 2 > Save Files
This PC > OS (C:) > Users > User name > Endless Space 2 > Save Files
(None have the .tmp mentioned in other posts)
Now if my last save is missing I check the 2 folders and copy the file over to the one the game is looking to load saves from.
