Endless Space 2: Definitive Edition Question (should I buy now?)
Hi all,

Wondering if I should get the Definitive Edition Have not played this specific game but I have played similar 4X games and a bunch of the Civilization versions.

If I purchase the Definitive Edition now, it will be a pre-order. Is any of the base portion (the base game is what I mean) playable now or should I just go ahead and buy the regular game now and the DLCs later? I'd rather not wait to play the game but saving a few bucks on the DLC is always good.

Personally, it's the only 4X game I like. And I like it a lot.

Thanks for this. If I buy the Definitive Edition can I play the basic game before the Definitive Edition comes out?

I am not sure what you mean. Everything except Dark Matter (DLC) is already available and, I assume, is included in the Definitive Edition.

So yeah, you can play it just fine.

There will be a discount in the summer. There are discounts every three months.

To answer the question regarding access to the content: If you buy the Definitive Edition now, you will have access to all content except for Dark Matter, which will become available at release.

I will leave the value-judgment up to the community.

Wait for sales, the game is often on sale.

What's the difference between the Definitive Edition and the non-Definitive edition? Just the included DLC and spruced graphics? I want to try ES2 but don't want to commit to the $100 right off the get go, in case it's not my thing, but at the same time I don't want a dated copy of the main game, if there's an enhanced one out there.

Perhaps you should search for "Endless Space 2 Definitive Edition key", for to not pay $100?

I mean, it's going to cost you over $80 MSRP for all the DLCs anywayI'm pretty sure I spent close to $100 anyway even with sales on eventually getting near all the DLCs ever made for this game, even with sales. So, OP could just buy the base game to see if he likes it which is the smart thing to do, and wait for sales on DLC/DE. I can't remember if this definitive edition lets you pay for it and deducting content you already own on steam.

Oh wait, did they upgrade the graphics? I can't really tell the difference. I wonder if that did anything to performance.
